She sure has liked hanging right on the edge of the lagoon these past few days!

Trix has been a little glutton the past few days...her appy is always pretty happy, but it's been even happier, which I always love to see. Minimal "lead the bean around the house while eating," too, which I greatly appreciate.

This morning, for some reason she was armed for battle from the get-go with the gelcap. I got the warning hiss after only 2 failed attempts, and then the cat fight noises started. I guess she just was not in the mood at all! I'm getting better at not forcing the issue, though. I stopped right away and repacked the gelcap even though it really wasn't starting to collapse yet - that gave both of us a couple minutes to regroup. She was a little tense when I went back with the freshly packed gelcap, but it did go down on the first try. I think she was expecting another failed pill placement by MamaBean...she looked a little surprised when it went down  ! (I know, Trix, sometimes I surprise myself when it goes down easily, too!)

My Dad was really coming out of the chemo crash yesterday, so spirits were considerably better. He said food was finally starting to taste like food again. The ups and downs if this are SO stressful...I had just about shut down for a day there, so I really didn't get much of anything done on my day off yesterday. Now I don't have another day off until his next round of chemo next week....so much for getting the dust bunnies rounded up any time soon!

Time to get moving....have a great day, LL!

You are such a good momma Amy. I have trouble pilling Bubby too.sometimes I surprise myself and can get it in on the first try, but more often I don't and he spits it out. Or he draws blood... He doesn't mean to. I did resort to a piller. It works better but I still get nervous.

Good news about you dad. Keeping you and the family in my prayers.

Have a good day.

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Ah the ever ending saga of the gelcap. I give you a high five, as I know how stressful it can be when one has meds to get into a cat. You guys are getting good at this, and good too at knowing when to regroup. Bg's are looking good too. That blue +3 sure looks green to me. Good job Trixie!

Kudos to your dad. I am so glad this round went well. :-D

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Yea for the almost green +3 but I too will call it a green, meter error you know! I'm glad your dad is feeling better. I know how stressful this is for all of you. Continued prayers that the chemo goes better until it does its magic.

I think it counst too!   Glad to hear that your dad is feeling better and heck dust bunnies can be a decorating statement!

Bootiful Trixie! That's looks pretty green to me. Close enough after the pill issue, huh? Great to hear your dad is feeling better. What a roller coaster ride. Have a great day Amy!

I feel your pain on the gelcaps! I'm glad the second go-round worked out better. I would like to clone Minka when it comes to pilling. She is so patient and very rarely spits it out anymore - of course, I may be getting better at placement, too! Practice make perfect, and all that. ;-)

Yay for gluttony!!! I always smile when you call her that. I know you are smiling as you type it, because getting enough food in her has been such a big stress for you.

I'm so glad your dad is starting to feel better, and the general mood is lightening. It's so hard to remember that it will get better when you are in the midst of the misery. I wonder if that is Sasha's problem - food just doesn't taste good. If that's what your dad describes, it makes sense to me that she might be feeling the same thing. I hope she gets over it, as he is doing.

Sending lots of healing vines and prayers for your DF and continued gluttony vines for Trix! :-D

Another makes-me-smile Trixie morning...even the gel cap! Go glutton go!

Just remember, a chemo cycle...is a cycle. A couple of carp days every couple of weeks. And the lingering fatigue. But it's doable. Not pleasant, but doable. (I think it's harder on the caregivers than the patient!) Still, sending tons of vines to you all. I know it's not easy.

I'm glad Trixie's appy is so good. Yay for getting the gelcap down on the first try the second time. I'm glad your dad is starting to feel better. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Amy,
A pretty good day, I would say! Trixie got her gelcap, she ate well, your dad is feeling better and his food is tasting better again. Keep your chin up and have a great evening!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I dont have any experience with pilling..knock wood..anti-jinx..I didnt just say that..so I cant imagine what its like having to do it. Bless your heart for being a good mama bean. Glad your dad is doing better, and hang in there, youre doing a great job keeping it together with everything life throws at you.. :YMHUG:

I have a new appreciation for how hard it is getting a cat to swallow something she doesn't want to swallow, and I am very impressed by your pilling skills!! I'm glad Trixie had a nice day. I hope your dad continues to feel better!

celebrating the pills going down and your dad's food tasting like food again!

and don't worry, the dust bunnies will still be there when you have the energy to tackle them! No rush there! ;-) :-D
