WCR: All Ps in place. WOW...best appy in a long time! I didn't have to hold her bowl for her once and she ate it ALL!!!! She helped me put on my make-up and brush my teeth and she helped me pick out my clothes. Although, I think I'm on to her...she lead me astray twice this morning with horrible outfit choices. I think she's just trying to get me to stay home longer!

Ok, serious question: is it normal for me to visually see Shasta's breathing? As in, I see her little sides moving in, out, in, out and sometimes when she's sitting on her hindquarters, I can see her body pulsate. I think it's just when she's purring, but I can't be 100% certain of this. Every time it go to listen to her breathing, she's purring...I think she just likes when I'm snuggled up next to her! :-D Ok, just wondering if I should be concerned.

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

I often watch for China breathing, especially when I know she's low, and is deep in sleep. There's nothing more comforting that seeing her chest rise and fall when she hasn't moved in hours, or I've had to be gone for several hours and wasn't home to watch her.

As long as it doesn't look like Shasta is having to really work to breathe, I think you're fine....although I might suggest if someone calls and asks you "what you doing?", you might not want to answer "watching my cat breathe"....Not everyone is a crazy cat lady..or gent

Morning Deborah ~O) ~O) ~O)

I often watch my kitties breathe too. I think that as long as there is no obvious signs of distress or that she's having trouble it is perfectly normal to be able to see them do the ins and outs. Purring seems to make it even more noticeable, at least for my guys.

Have a great day today. Shasta is off to a good start. HOORAY for a good appy! GOOOOO Shasta!

Yay on the good appy this morning. I don't know about the breathing. I usually only look when my kitties are sleeping. I would think she's okay as long as she's not having any trouble breathing.

Hi guys ... yay, so happy to hear about the good appy! A few years back, maybe one or two, twix was breathing really hard .. like, harder then I thought a cat should breathe when she was just laying there .. so I took her to the vet for it and nothing was wrong .. sometimes I think I become too paranoid over my cats and see things that aren't really happening .. but that's just me .. and I'm crazy like that .. have a great day guys!

Let me put this in perspective, can you see people breathe? If you watch, you'll see either a person's chest or abdomen expand and contract. It's no different for our kitties -- the muscles have to move in order to help air get into and out of the lungs. (People just don't purr!)

haha...you all are great people! Thank you for putting my mind at ease. I know I should expect a little visual in/out movement, but there are just times that it seems so noticeable, that I get worried. Other times, I see her entire body pulsate as if her heart is pumping so hard her entire body is beating. Guess this goes back to her having a heart problem. Interestingly enough, I notice that about myself sometimes...more recently, especially with all my stresses. Speaking of stresses...I guess I should get off the computer and start looking at that big evaluation thingy I have to turn in on Friday. :-x angry(2)_cat grumpy_cat :-Q  cat(2)_steam nailbite_smile :? :YMSIGH: @-) grr_red

Ok, I think I got all my emotions regarding this thing... Good night and thank you all for the advice!

Happy appy and a blue surf! Awesome, Shasta! Good luck with the eval, ugh, it's so unpleasant. Remember, it's a poor dog that don't wag its own tail. :-D
