Yesterday's Loose Lips

Hope Linda and Teddy are doing well today :YMHUG:

Leroy did it again last night... another panting/lip smacking thingy :-| It was about 7:30 pm. He was lying on the bedroom floor doing nothing and was fine and then it just started  I gave him a good workout half an hour earlier with a new attachement to the fishing pole toy and he hadn't had anything to eat since 6pm. I'm keeping track of these episodes to see if there's any sort of pattern. The last one was last Thursday No sniffling or other sign of allergies, as Dr. B suggested confused_cat

I'm making cookies today as payment for the vet at work :-D I decided on Pecan sandies The recipie looks easy to do and no fancy equipment is needed.

Have a good Sunday everyone

Aren't you a sweetheart baking for the vet!!!! I'm glad you are keeping good details on Leroy and I'm sure it will help with figuring it out. Glad you got it on video and the vet could see it.

Give him a belly rub from me.

I hope you get to the bottom of whatever is going on with Leroy. And how nice of you to bake for your vet. The cookies sound tasty.

Stray/feral kitty update:

I took her to the vet last Monday for a wellness check and since she has some liquid poo issues. Its a female. Got her dewormed. She is slightly positive for FIV but the vet said that it could be from her mom. The internet lit said to retest in 60 days at the earliest, vet said at 8 months. Around six months is the typical retesting time. My neighbor is keeping her in her bathroom. She doesn't cry at night and is sooooo sweet. My neighbor named her Tabatha since she is a tabby. After taking photos of her yesterday the name Angel came to mind. Still looking for a furever home for this little darling. Hopefully the pics will entice someone to consider adopting her. I may also use one of the no kill groups who would allow us to foster the kitty but bring her in on the weekend to Petsmart.

Tabatha is gorgeous!!! What a sweetie Tena. That last picture melted my heart. Good for you and your neighbor taking good care of her. She will get a loving forever home.

Tabatha is a beautiful kitty and she sounds extra sweet. I'm sure you'll be able to find her a good furever home, Tena.

Squeem: we hope that Leroy's problem will be diagnosed soon. Do you think the cookies will help? They sound delicious; I may try that recipe. Lucky vet!!

Everyone have a good day today. We are thinking of Linda & Teddy.

Tabatha is just so incredibly sweet...I love, love, love the mirror picture of her! The pictures in general are gorgeous - they look so professional! My fingers are seriously crossed that her follow-up FIV test is a solid negative. What a cutey!!!

Squeen...Hope you get to the bottom of Leroy's panting. I've never seen a cat do that. I didn't realize you were in the Boston area too.

Funny that you mentioned Pet World in Natick. That's where I adopted Ollie out of. :-D The people there and the volunteers with SPIN are so wonderful and save so many cats. Ollie had been there for a while...since he was an "older" gentleman when he was up for adoption. I try to support them as much as possible.

Hi Lantus people...

Long time no talk.

Today is one year since Kasha went to the bridge and I'm feeling pretty melancholy. The weather is melancholy too, so it matches my mood...

Hope everyone is well... I haven't been checking in at all lately - been dealing with a bunch of family issues, but I do think of all of you often.

Take care, everyone.

Hey there Krys

Hugs for you my dear. Good to hear from you. You've definitely had a very sad year with passing of your sweet Kasha and your mom. I remember how you took such good care of your furbaby. And I also remember how the two of you spent some quality time together outdoors soaking in the sun the day before you helped her cross the bridge.

I hope you are able to look back on the beautiful memories the two if you created together and know that you allowed Kasha to have a wonderful life.

Take good care of yourself.

Big hugs
Tena and Curry

Hi Krys. I'm glad you posted. I think of Kasha often. She is one special cat. She is waiting for you, where one day you will be together again. I hope your memories of her are getting a little happier. (((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))))

Vet at work loves anything I bake :-D

Love the digital camera  Just take video of problem and send it off to the vet for an initial opinion. A video came in handy to help DX Squishy's asthma.

Leroy loves tummy rubs :-D

The cookies came out great and yummy :-D I mistakenly bought whole pecans instead of chopped pecans but that wasn't a big deal. I just tossed the pecans into the food processor and gave it a whirr. Mom's really really old Sunbeam mixer was a pain to deal with but once my brother took the rotating plate off and moved it to the slot for the big bowl, it worked fine. Mom apparently never knew that there were two different slots for the two bowl sizes. She always used the big bowl with the rotating plate in the slot for the small sized bowl (guess that was how the mixer was set up when she took it out of the box whenshe bought it).

There are a couple of us, some Lantus users and some other insulin users. There's an old FDMB Lantus user location map. It hasn't been upated in awhile.

Cool  I've bought gerbils from Pet World before. One of my current civies came from a rescue group that brings their adoptable cats to the Especially For Pets in Wayland  I went there to look and walked out with a cat

Tena, great pictures of Tabitha  I hope she finds a home soon :YMHUG:

oh LOVE the pictures of Tabatha! she's a beauty - her markings are so symmetrical - just beautiful.

((((krys)))) i came on after then, but know how hard it is to lose a little one. sad anniversary. i hope you remember your joyful times with her too.

(((((krys)))))
i rarely have time to read the Loose Lips thread, but i'm glad i did tonight. it's so good to hear from you.
please don't be a stranger. you know you'll always have a home away from home here.
take care...

(((Krys))) I am so glad I checked here, as I almost missed your post. I so dearly remember sweet Kasha and that last day with her. The first year is so hard. You were always so supportive, and I've missed your talks about take out foods. Stay in touch here when you can. Lots of good thoughts and hugs go out to you.
