Afternoon all!

Sorry for the late post, Saturdays are the days I go landscape and don't have time to write before I leave the house. The kids woke me up at 4:30 this morning and I fed them cause they wouldn't shut it otherwise. Hopefully, that is the reason for the spike. Tomorrow is curve day, so we'll see exactly what we are up against. He had some elevated urine flow today (like normal) and his poos are better formed again. Probably due to the Evo that he's gotten some more of. . .
Well, gonna get set up to test PMPS and I'll let you all know.

Oh, I don't remember who said it, but it was suggested that I try rubbing his ears again like I did at first - soooo much better. Cause his ears are a little cold I use the bottle too, but I spend some real quality time just rubbing them for a while. Also, I think that it calms him a little too.

Geniuses, you are all geniuses!

So, girlfriend was home this afternoon, so gave Buddy food at around 3:45pm. When I got home at 5pm, he wanted food, but was not so crazed. She left the cats kitty pops this morning as usual. I tried to get his PMPS before any food. Really I did. But to no avail. I gave him ~4oz. food and it only took me about 3 min. to get blood (2 tries and I swear the first one just plain missed, so I'm guessing there is no food spike here, plus he didn't seem stressed about not having food available oh and it took him. Lesson learned - I'm definitely buying a timed food bowl to give him a snack around 4pm. This will make the house less crazy when I get home from work, it will lower his stress and I can get a more accurate reading, and I'll have peace of mind that he has more food available during the day. Just hope amazon can ship this sucker FAST. Also, it feels like I'm becoming more reproducible with my injections meaning, after I inject, I look at the needle (outside the cat) and push the plunger all the way in to check the drop size. It has been looking the same from about Wed on.

I know your schedule is very tight during the work week. Is there any way to get PM spot checks in -- at the minimum a before bed spot check?

Sounds like you had a good day with Buddy's testing and shooting and all. Good job! :mrgreen:
A before bed time check lets you know what is happening during that cycle. some kitties go lower at night. And, if you really want to know how he is doing, get a +2 or a +3 if that is possible....and alternate hours on different nights....

I've been thinking about the PM spot checks as well. Also thought about different nights different times. Now that we have a better routine with checks and he's a bit less crazy and bleeding better, It's time. Last couple of weeks have just been so traumatic for both of us as far as getting the checks in.

Tony, good job on getting the blood. My kitty thinks I'm a Vampire. Hey, whatever it takes, right? Great job w/Buddy. You are quick learner. Good luck w/the autofeeder.....I'm still "teaching" Curry to use it. We are both slow learners. :mrgreen:

Mad Scientist was what I first saw the other night when you landed. Welcome. It sounds like we're on the same cruise. I'm am new here too, and I ditto your appreciation to this board here, they really are life savers, in more ways than one.

I got the auto-feeder for exactly the same reason you're getting it and it's working great! I got the 5-meal feeder and it really is helping me and Gandolf regulate his meals,(great for regulating BG); the timer works, and we are both getting use to it. I think it gets a little messy around the borders(wet food -soooo good for the kitties), but E-Z to clean. YAY! We like E-Z! And its a small trade-off. If you don't need them for all day or all night, 2-3 hour intervals, then there is a 2 meal feeder. Be encouraged. Arrived to my door quickly and dear Gandolf picked right up on it. Yay! Ah! Of course, some strong praise and pets and treats and he's catching on quickly. We had a "perfect" moment last night when he was standing over the finished feeder-bowl from last meal and the feeder, as timed, whirred its little I/5 of a circle and a new heap of fresh food rolled right out under his nose. That was an "ah ha!" kitty moment.

I"ll tell you another something I'm trying and am liking. The kitty litter arrangement as written about by Dr. Lisa Pierson <http://www.catinfo.org/?link=litterbox>. It was through her site I found this excellent place. In my desperate research for my terribly sick kitty I found this info on the litter box. When I think about it, I've never read anything but labels when it comes to a litter box system. I like the way Dr. Pierson teaches it. It makes clean sense, and I needed an easier way to keep a handle on this area. Mine wasn't working. How to keep it closer at hand so I can watch Gandolf closer without totaling out the area with "cat here" smell has been challenging. Was super easy to clean the litter box today in a matter of a couple of minutes and the whole area was refreshed as well. Impressive. Hope this clumping systems works as good as the feeder-system does. Yep. Me thinks its the bean here getting more regulated and kitty is just following. Hmmmmm.
