John, How often are you feeding Apollo? Do you still leave food out for him to graze?

Also, have you tried giving him something like home cooked chicken or FF appetizers just to see if he will eat more?

I am feeding him 4 times, the main AM and PM feedings and then a few hours after both AM and PM feedings. I was leaving food out for him to graze, but I am trying to stop doing that so he will have more of an appetite during the main feedings, which are important when giving him shots.

No I haven't tried the home cooked chicken or FF appetizers. I will give them a try. Thanks!

i know you've asked about the insulin a couple of times - if he were mine, i would want to see numbers under 100 most of the time before i stopped giving him insulin. it's hard to know because he hasn't had any for a couple of days, but again, if he were mine, i'd probably give a .25 or .1 twice a day for a little while to give his pancreas some support.

Now that he is starting to eat a little more I want to resume his insulin shots. Now my question is when we left off he had just earned a reduction and was at 0.75 twice a day. Do I start back at that number or go to a 0.25 or 0.1 like you suggested twice a day?

Just trying to give him best opportunity for long-term success.

Glad to hear Apollo is eating better!

I agree with Julie - He still need insulin . Get a few spot checks today, that will help give a better picture of how much to start him back on.

I agree with Julie and Sandy. He needs insulin. His numbers are above the norms for a non-diabetic kitty. Since you are worried about his not eating why don't you consider lowering the dose but after you get some spot checks tomorrow.
