Well, I raised Pumbaa to 2.0U tonight.

He had 8 cycles at 1.75U, and it took him 4 cycles to even start settling into that dose. He had great numbers yesterday during the AM cycle, then bounced this morning, and started to come down by his PMPS.

The dose increase was inevitable, and I didn't want to prolong this, and see days of pink numbers and high yellow numbers. Like I've said, my immediate goal is to get him below renal threshold, even if he stays at a flat 200 for a while. Actually, I'd like him down to a flat 150 in the next couple of weeks, since my mom is facing some more medical procedures. (Who has the magic wand I can wave over Pumbaa? *LOL*)

Another thing that I like about Levemir, so far, is that Pumbaa may bounce, but he's not diving like he did on the Lantus. Thank God, and insert another

. Those dives are what made me crazy and really affected Pumbaa in a bad way! They would come out of nowhere, with no warning, and caused me a lot of stress and a lot of lost sleep due to constantly testing to make sure he didn't dive and dive low enough to go hypo. Dropping over 300 points in 6 hours is insane! I didn't find it on the SS, but I remember someone (Carl or Dale) commenting on Pumbaa dropping 300 points in 2 or 3 hours. And I know others have experienced even deeper dives that this on Lantus!

Wish us luck on the 2.0U dose! Flat low yellow numbers or high blues on this dose would be awesome!

OK - see you also are aware of the four cycles to settle....

Paws crossed for decent numbers. Would love to see him in the mid 100s as well.

Gotta ask, where did you get the "antijinx" icon?

I am wishing you luck with this dose! It IS nice how the numbers aren't so all over the place on Lev, isn't it? Missy is the bounciest girl, ever and it ain't cuz she's overweight. She really evened out with Lev, seems to feel much better (even before her numbers started coming down) and is overall a much happier girl.
Love your icon!

Yes, just put the url to the image in between the [ img ] [ /img ] tags and it will appear.

If I can make it a bit smaller in size, I should ask Rebecca if she would like to add it to the Smilies. :)

Thank you, Mares, and feel free to use the anti-jinx icon as well!

I'm glad Missy have evened out more, too, on the Levemir! As the saying goes, "they bounce until they don't". But the Levemir certainly is helping, and for me, the lack of diving is the most important part!
