Re: 10/14 Klinger AMPS 390

marcy has anyone figured out why you get the freak blue number once in a while...at the oddest places in the cycle?

PMPS 282 3.0 u
I've scheduled a dental for next Saturday. Keep Klinger in your thoughts. Hopefully this will help his numbers.
Hi Lori, no, unless it's part of being an acro. Still need to get him tested.

I believe they [acro test] must be shipped off to a University. If shipping to a University, please insure they are sent on a Monday-Thursday [not on a Fri] OVERNIGHT FedEx or UPS NOT USPS on a frozen gel pack. The best is to start on a Monday. I can explain if needed. I give vets our FedEx acct. number and tell them to use it.

when you are ready:
Michigan State Univ Vet Lab- link available
your vet needs to set up an acct with them by giving a cc#,
lab tests set up wednesdays, so
draw the blood monday pm,
send in insulated shipper with ice, Fed ex overnight, Monday night for tues delivery
results by following Monday-
endocrinology vet in mich writes a report and receives calls to discuss
some folks freeze the blood and send it whenever-

IGF-1 about $45
also test for IAA which adds like $14

Sorry I'm AWOL
both kitties sick

Nancy, I hope your kitties get better soon!
Thanks for the info on the tests. We're actually having the blood work done the morning of the dental. It costs a little bit more, but it saves Klinger the stress of going in twice.
I'll have to ask the vet if where she sends the acro tests. I'm thinking she's not too familiar with the process.

this is the ONLY place in the country that does this test. If she sends it elsewhere you are paying a middle man. Go find the IGF-1 test info sheet in the HS stickies- its a link there you could print out and hand her.
Most vets have never ordered it and wont be familiar, and will think you are crazy.
