10/13 Smudge: AMPS 71, +3.5 66, PMPS 72, +4.5 75

Good morning Smudge and Alli!! Happy Friday the 13th to you as well!!

@allicatmeow I saw your post what did you find weird about Smudge's 75 last night at +3?

my guess is you found it weird that he went higher from the PS of 63, despite the 2.75U shot. Looking at his SS you've never EVER seen him rise after the insulin dose is administered, only drop -- until last night. Another first for Smudgers!

Well, guess what -- you are going to get used to that quickly. It is one of the interesting quirks we often see as a cat settles into being well regulated or tightly regulated on Lantus/Glargine. As the pre-shot BGs get lower and lower you will often see a slight rise due to the "food bump" but overall things tend to stay flat.

Honestly I think he qualifies as tightly regulated right now which again is just amazing in such a short time. And you deserve tons of credit for jumping in with all four feet, committing to the process, following the guidance, and suffering through lack of sleep.

Good morning Alli, wow, Smudge is a very smart little guy. He’s gotten with the program super quick and you have led him with smooth skill. I completely agree with @Hendrick Cuddleclaw

Watching and cheering you on here! Have a wonderful day!!!

Yes that is exactly it, he NEVER goes higher after I shoot. Usually he goes down with food, but I maybe we are still changing and adjusting to being tightly regulated? :D I love that he is already there!!! He is such a good boy and I couldn't do it if he wasn't so patient.

I can't test him til +3 this morning, so we will see where he is at then. :nailbiting:
