Shadow's yesterday
Morning all.
We went btb this morning but I set the alarm to get that +2. Shadow has become arm candy.
Yesterday she jumped down from her 3 ft mini tower and I saw her limping. nailbite_smile So I felt her up. Didn't find anything out
of place.
Shadow has no ball on her left leg femur up in her hip socket from having it removed after my dd fell on her accidentally when she was a kitten. The vets said she would do fine without it as long as she is always an indoor cat. Her leg muscles would be enough.
( We interrupt this post because Shadow wants to play. She 's playing with her wand toy and plastic halloween spiders and jelly bracelets-
so good to see) okay she's done.
Anyway, last night, about 2 hrs after her shot, she was sleeping really soundly, and started twitching ( she's done this before but I hadn't
thought to post about it) and I got up and tested her which she slept thru ( huh?)
The twitching is her back legs and her whiskers but she never slept this soundly before insulin. I can wake her if I put my hand on her
body and gently nudge her. And then when it was time for that last feeding before bed, I noticed the limp again and she had jumped from
the tower to follow me.
Marje gave me a link about potassium possibly being the cause. But don't know if she's too high or too low. Both ways can cause these
symptoms.
So it looks like we'll have to go to the vet.

I'm verry worried about that for all kinds of reasons but also that should spike her bg enough to make us have to re-start the count on
this dose. I'm sure we'll go over 120.
Guess I should let them do a senior panel out of that blood sample so we can check for other things too. Aargh!
She is still limping slightly this morning and I haven't let her jump down again since last night. She is now my arm candy and has her
own personal valet.
Marje and Jane pointed out to me that it could just be an electrolyte imbalance since she doesn't have other symptoms that I can see.
She only pees/poops once a day and she never drinks water at all that I've seen. I do add a tablespoon or two to at least half her meals.
Some of her meals are in really slushy cans. ( like paying so much for that water )
We had a huge hailstorm yesterday ( and it isn't even July when we get hail the most). It was so much that the ground was covered everywhere
that it looked like a 2 inch snow. Pea size , thankfully. Then it started melting and rushing down the road like a river stream.
But hey, it's moisture.
Healing vines to all who need them, kitties and beans!!
