As I type that I still find it hard to believe. Well, it has been 16 months since Tuffy has been ‘off the juice’. THANK YOU FDMB. Will she stay OTJ? Who knows? She is diabetic and each day is a new adventure. We all survived the roller coaster ride. Tuffy is still Tuffy. One morning a 168 and +3 a 31. She is still driving me crazy. We have had some weird numbers and I have thought about shooting but reconsidered. Tuffy could go to 21 or 30 on .10 insulin. Maybe one of these days she will let me in on what she is doing.
I rearranged the bedroom and broke down some bookcases. Now, she uses me as a trampoline to get on top of the bookcases. The other morning I woke up unable to breath. Well, I overslept and had a 21 lb. bundle of purrs and kitty kisses sitting on my chest. I told her if she suffocated me she would not eat. She is still a terror with the other cats. She grew up with them and now they are not allowed in the bedroom. And, to top it off, I found Heidi’s ball (her GA Rottie pal) the other day and Waif confiscated it. The really got her upset.
Her PMBG was 108; she is on a no FF diet now. She refuses to eat it. She wants Friskies. So, she has been eating Beef & Chicken Special Diet and sometimes ProPlan Chicken & Liver. Occasionally, I sprinkle freeze dried chicken on her food. The other night, Trouble, the left behind kitty on the patio saw me sprinkle her food and left his dinner and plastered his nose on the French door. Now, he needs freeze dried chicken on his wet food. What a group.
Sad day around here 10 weeks since Ton crossed the bridge and 6 weeks since Pami crossed the bridge. It has left me reeling a little more than I anticipated. On the brighter side I was lucky to be part of their lives and miss them immensely.
To all the newbies, you are in excellent hands. It is not always easy with the sugar dance but you get exceptional guidance here and your kitties can do well.
Thoughts for all the ailing kitties and/or beans. Continued success with your sugarbabies. Remembering an old phrase not seen here much lately, it is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Hearing about Tuffy's antics always gives me a giggle! I love that cat!! She is aptly named. Thanks for letting us share in Tuffy's 16 month anniversary.

aw, the Ton and Pami reminders are so hard...
but the Tuffy antics are so dang cute!
and HAPPY 16 MONTHS, TUFFY!

thinking of you, barb...

YAY on 16 months!!! and I love that phrase - it should be our motto: It's not a sprint, it's a marathon. :-D

I love your Tuffy stories - and that of the clan. What a group you have there!

A special remembrance tonight for Ton and Pami. May they live on forever in yur heart. I am sure they will.

Happy 16 months! That's fantastic! Love to hear that the gang is doing well. Sincere condolences on Pami and Ton. They were as lucky to have you as you were to have them.

Congratulations Tuffy and Barbara on 16 Months OTJ :-D
Nice post. And funny, too. It's good to hear from you. :YMHUG:

Hi Barb,
I loved reading your post and hearing all about Tuffy's antics. What a terrific kitty she is! Every day a new adventure!
Pami and Ton (and Heidi and all of your GAs) are very much with you and it is comforting to realize that Tuffy's reaction to Waif stealing Heidi's ball is part of the chain of remembrance, for Tuffy and for you.

Happy 16 Months OTJ, Tuffy!

And thank you, Barb, for your support in Rusty's condo. It is always great to hear from you.

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Hugs to you and all your fur family and special scritches to Tuffy on this special day,

Ella & Rusty

CONGRATULATIONS!!! 16 months!!! WOW!!! Wishing for Tuffy to remain OTJ furever. I love that cat report. I can so relate. Except for the smothering of the kitters being on the chest thing. Mine never do that. Have a great day! :-D

Congrats Barbara and Tuffy!!! Yours was a dance well danced and I hope Tuffy just keeps on dancing through a lifetime of remission.

(((Barbara)))).....I know it's been a really hard summer. Sending you prayers and thoughts of peace.
