hi LL Family,
i know it's been a while since i last posted....you all know that i keep you in my thoughts and prayers daily even if i physically don't make it to read the board daily....you know how extremely tired i am and how the lack of sleep goes over here with me....

a few things to update you for those of you who are not on FB

Rocket is doing so so. I am assist feeding one or two meals in the wee hrs to make sure he gets all the calories needed and so far he has not gained nor lost weight. He has good days and some bad. About a week or so ago i thought i had lost him when i found him pretty out of it and not responsive....i guess he must have had a Pancreatitis attack (at least i think it was the case) cause he didn't want to eat. I upped his subq fluids and bupe and had to syringe feed him thru the weekend. No vomit or diarrhea or temp. so he had extra TLC and seemed to have turned the corner....

Comet, Rocket's drooler brother (15 yrs old) has been a different story....he needs your prayers....after his dental on Sep 8 he developed a cough that was relentless and so they Rx some abs which i think did more harm than good.....as he has had soft to runny poo ever since. the cough went away but i knew something was still not right....last Saturday we took him to the vet and they did the physical exam and found his anal glands completely full....after they emptied them the vet found (could feel) a lump inside the right side anal gland. So the ultrasound was scheduled this past Tuesday. I took the day off work.

To my shock his liver has two nodules (masses) and yes the lump in the anal gland is there. So the IM vet scared the living daylights out of me and so we proceeded with some bw and Xrays to see whatelse is going on....well....turns out his liver values are way past the roof! they're super high....from what they were back in June (last bw) so it seems there is a sense of urgency in doing the lump removal as it could be cancer. plus they are going to aspirate the liver masses to see what we are dealing with.

i was truly not expecting this sort of news. so he goes this coming Tuesday for his mass removal plus aspirates. and it will be a matter of waiting to see what the results are....IM vet seems to think the C word....we will then weigh in our options and taking into consideration Comet as priority and his QOL before we make a decision

i feel like i'm living a bad dream....Rocket and Comet....my two fur-kids....whom i love oh so dearly....

it is shocking news....DH will take Wed off his work to stay home with Comet in case he is released from the hospital depending on how well he does....

i look at my boys and feel my time is getting shorter with them....and i do cherish them each and every minute i spend with them....

please keep both my boys in your thoughts and prayers....especially for Comet as he goes in for surgery on Tuesday morning....

as you can imagine my sleep time has been now reduced from the 4 odd hrs to less than that....i am trying not to worry and to be optimistic...however i also need to face the reality that both are seniors....with many ailments....

prayers much appreciated for both my boys......

(((Claudia))) Sending both of your boys many prayers, white light, and healing vines. I hope the surgery goes well for Comet and that it is not cancer. Did they have any idea what the liver nodules might be other than possibly cancer? Hoping you only get good news
and you have your boys with you for still a long time to come.

sending prayers and light, and many many hopes for the best outcome :YMHUG: and so very glad to hear Rocket is doing so well! cat_pet_icon

Every prayer we have is going to you! Take good care of all of you. If wishing could make it so, you would all get a quiet, precious night of sleeping snuggled up to one another. :YMHUG: Give yourselves a healing hug from all of us

(((CLaudia and Comet and Rocket and DH))) I am so sorry to hear that Rocket is facing some challenges and am sending many many healing vines your way. I'm tearing up and have you in my heart and prayers. Furkids are just as loved as the 2-leggers in my book - we have so much love to go around there is no limit. They bring us such joy. Sleeping and calming vines to you too.

Claudia, of course there will be prayers coming from this house .. Prayers that comet's surgery goes well and there is no *C* Give them extra hugs and scritches from us ...

Claudia, I'm so sorry that Comet is also feeling the effects of his age. I so hope the surgery goes well and everything found is benign. My best wishes will continue to go out for both your boys and for you and your hubby. Stay strong and try to get some rest.

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci
