I've spent the whole day on the phone trying to find some different approaches that will help Cindy. While trying to keep a watchful eye on Olive. She hit 91+6 so gave her a mini meal with 1 small drop of honey like last time just to try and slow her from dropping much further so I can attempt to hold her steady again. It's been a challenge dealing with two cats at the same time with different problems as I try and find balance for both. Olive is doing well, but I've spent so much time worrying over Cindy and trying to get food in her that I'm not sure what Olive has been up to this morning other than napping when I'd walk by.

Cindy's vet isn't in today (figures) so had to leave a message. I told him I want to work WITH HIM in a holistic Medicine approach because this medicine just isn't doing it for her. They had me decrease the pill again by half every 6 hours now instead of half a pill every 12. At least she ate a little on her own after the decrease but I also have the appetite stimulant in it that Doc P suggested. I think it's worth giving Eastern medicine a chance. Won't know until we try and if she stays with the western medicine it's going to destroy her body in the end anyways. I like to keep an open mind and all the research I've done in the last few days shows a lot of promise going the holistic route. I personally think there's just not enough scientific evidence to back up Eastern medicine because the vast majority of people stick with western medicine. I think there's room for both!

Great job with Olive :bighug: Feeding the curve helps so much! And I agree about some middle ground in the approach to medicine...Cindy (and Olive!) are in some really caring hands. You're doing great, Robyn :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much for the kind words, Susanne! Our furry kids mean everything to us. They've given me a lot of sleepless nights...but even more joy. Animals make our world a better place for sure.

Great cycle for Olive, yet again.

My vet does both types of medicine, she was trained in both Western and Chinese meds/holistic. It gives a few more tools in the toolbox.

My vet does both types of medicine,
That's wonderful. I can't find ANYONE within an hour of here (so far) that is trained in Chinese medicine. I'm having to do all my research online and go from there. I asked the tech at the holistic vet I'll be taking Olive to on the 29th if she knows if the doc is savvy in Hyperthyroid issues and she didn't even know. Ugh. So I'm weary to set up an appointment for Cindy with her as well. And she's only seen a few Diabetic cats so that's also concerning, but I simply don't have access to holistic vets in my area. So by in large I feel like, aside from this group, I'm flying solo with both my kids due to lack of vets with experience here. I just don't know what I would have done without you guys. You are all such a BLESSING!
