Today marks one year since Max had SRT. He has come so far since then. We are so grateful and happy about his progress. I wouldn’t have known about acromegaly or SRT… or much of anything about the management of FD if it weren’t for the caring people here on this board. It has been quite a journey and some days I feel like I’m halfway crazy from not enough sleep, but I’ve learned so much and am very thankful. I don’t think Max would still be with me if it weren’t for this board and for NC State Vet hospital.

I really wish Max could get some more SRT action going. It would be worth the lack of sleep to me to see that. I just have to learn how to manage those long nights a little better though because of getting migraines when I go too long without enough sleep. I’ve never been a good napper but I’m learning to be.
Come on Max, show me something today!

P.S. He will probably wait until Sunday when I’m gone all day. Can’t monitor then because we will be gone from AMPS +2 to PMPS.
So, I am waiting for it Max!

SRT is a funny thing. I live with two acrokitties both of whom have had hypophysectomy and later SRT for regrowth. I'm told by all the veterinary radiation oncologists and I know from experience and people here that SRT can take up to a year to produce results. It targets the tumour and it takes a while for the tumour to not be able to replicate itself at the cellular level. You might just be seeing the struggle between the SRT and the tumour.

Thanks so much Jodey. I’m so glad to see that Eddie is coming down lately. You are doing a great job with the both of your boys too. The struggle is real, but they are worth it all.:bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Glad to see him come back down. I think he’s done tonight. He didn’t want his snack @+4 and has gone to bed. Maybe I should leave him a LC snack in his feeder for later tonight.
