Good morning,

Here's yesterday and I have a question:

https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/10-11-eddie-amps-173-4-5-214-pmps-207-4-144.269500/

We were late this morning with dose (see Blue's story for explanation).

Anyway, my question: yesterday @Wendy&Neko you mentioned that if Eddie wasn't in the blue zone (or lower) when I went to bed not to bother with a PM +8 or +9. Last night he was PM +4 144 so I went to bed. But when I tested this morning he's AMPS 128!!! Like, what?? Do you think he went lower from PM +4 last night to AMPS today? Or is the AMPS today nadir?

Again, speaking Levemir is a challenge! I'm not sure where we are in the cycle. All I know is that Eddie's in the lower end of the blue zone today...:cat:

Hope you can get some more tests in this cycle. Already at 94 on the AT, I’d want to know where his BG goes and hows quickly in the last half of the cycle.

I don't understand, your text above said he was PM+4 144, but the spreadsheet says PM+4 was 277. It's very important to have the right, and same, data in both places.

As evidence by today's cycle, tests after +4 are important when they are on Levemir. While you are still learning Eddie on Levemir, getting any overnight tests, if you happen to be up anyway, are a good thing.

What is happening is that I'm setting my alarm to do a +4. I get up @ 7:00 am and by 10:00pm, after a full day, I'm often tired enough to go to bed. I just can't stay up until +4 so I set my alarm to do a +4 and because I'm getting out of nearly REM sleep and writing down numbers I'm making mistakes. This is not an excuse; it's a fact. Then when I try to do a +7 or +8, I'm waking twice out of deep sleep. So, ditto.

I was just responding today to what you had mentioned yesterday: that if he wasn't in the blue zone or lower when I went to bed that a +8 was probably not necessary. So, that's what happened last night.

So, at +8 today, Eddie had his snack and I didn't do a test because I did one @ +7. All in all, a most interesting day. As I said, I'm glad I was at home today. Do you attribute these blue/greens to reaching the right dose to overcome IAA? Or is the tumour deciding to back off sending out the growth hormone?

I had a paper log book. Every time I did a test, I wrote down the time and test number. And filled in the spreadsheet either then or if at night, later when I got up. I also, for my own notes, wrote down what I fed at that test.

Was he in the blue zone or not last night? Yesterday's thread used to say he was +4 144. As does the link to yesterday's post in your first post today. Yes, the dosing devil is in the details.

Green today could be because of any the above, and even adding breaking through glucose toxicity to the list. There is no way to know which it is at this point, just celebrate that it is. Answering why doesn't change what you do.

I do have a paper log book. Actually I have two paper log books, one for Eddie and the other for Blue. These also hold records of all other medications and events.
I also write down the time and test number and usually fill in the SS and the thread at the same time. Perhaps I should wait until I'm compos mentis before I do the SS or edit the thread. I edited the thread today after you pointed out the error.
