Good morning, and happy Sunday to all ~O)

We have not started insulin yet, but I have to admit when I saw that 79 I had that old familiar flutter in my tummy and a quick "oh no what do I do" thought run through my head :o Followed by "no insulin, no problem" sigh :-D

Bubby has not eaten yet, he was not pleased with the offering of Evo and Natures Variety Venison mixed together. He turned up his nose and went back to bed. He seemed to like the NV yesterday, but I could only find 4 cans so I have to make it last until Wednesday night when my order is supposed to arrive. He better like it still... It is expensive, I paid $1.20 more per can than the Evo.

He everyone has a nice day. Hugs and prayers to all that need them today.

Re: 10/12 Bubby 79

Good Morning Kathie ....I do not think We have met? My name is Risé and my FD KITTY IS Monet.
Wow ....79 ! Hope you can get Bubby to eat when he wakes up...it's so frustrating when our babies won't eat!
Hope you have a GREAT Sunday...

Wow on that 79. I bet that was a surprise. It's nice you don't have to worry since he's not on insulin yet. Maybe the new fuds will be enough and he won't need insulin. We can always hope.

Re: 10/12 Bubby 79

Hi Kathie,
It's cats' law that whenever they like a food on first taste they reject it on further reflection. But often they rediscover it and like it again. Don't despair!! (maybe he doesn't like the foods mixed together).
I hope that you'll be able to get Bubba regulated with food alone. That would be great.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend,

Ella & Rusty

Morning Kathie ~O) ~O) ~O)

I had no idea you had a new kitty. How wodnerful is that. And to take in an FD one too. Kudos to you, and CONGRATS!

Wow on that amps. How wonderful to think that Bubby could be a diet controlled diabetic. I so wish you much luck on this one. I so remember the fuds thing, one day it was the best food ever, the next they think you have just served the worst thing ever.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well. :-D

Kathie:

Has your vet thought about adding Cerenia to Bubby's meds? Aside from it being good at controlling nausea, it has some anti-inflammatory properties. My former vet suggested it for Gizmo when he went through a bout of diarrhea and vomiting.

Hi Rise' and sweet Monet, with the beautiful eyes  thanks for stopping in today.

Thanks Carla. Yeah, it was a surprise. I hope so too... I just can't bring myself to say it or even type it though.

Hi Ella, I think you're right. Bubby didn't love the foods mixed together. He ate some of just the new food, and then later did sample the mixed food again. So far, he doesn't want his evening meal of just the new food. He'd better eat it, I drove an hour and a half to buy some more cans today so that I'd have enough until my order arrives,

Hi Michelle, I actually adopted two fur babies a little over a year ago. Bubby didn't have FD when I adopted him, but within a couple of weeks, he did show some other health issues. He was just dx a week ago.

Hi Barb, thanks... Hope so too, but I just can't bring myself to say it or even type it. :-D

Thanks Sienne, I will talk with the Vet about the cerenia... He hasn't mentioned it. He did say there are other meds that we could try, but that they all come with some side effects.

Mr. Bubby had a good day. I was gone for 4-5 hours... And I think he slept for most of that time. I bought a few more cans of food, and I did find some Primal Frozen Raw venison to try, and some freeze dried raw venison treats. He didn't care for the treats, but Missy liked it. Oh and I found some psyllium husk without any other additives/sugar

When I got home Bubby and I cuddled for a bit. He had a snack, and then he started to shake his head and scratch his right ear. A quick inspection showed wax build up, so I used some ear cleaner. He did not like that! He is napping now. I've been trying to decide when to test again. I'm just doing random times at this point so the Vet and I will have some data to look at. Because of the gorgeous green this morning, I'm a bit afraid to test again... I'm afraid to see another high number and feel deflated. nailbite_smile I think we will do a before bed test tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good night. Hugs,
Kathie

Yay Bubby!! Hooray for that 79! The Evo and NV Instinct are both much lower in carbs than the Royal Canin, so hopefully the switch is helping!! How has his vomiting/diarrhea been? Maybe the new food is agreeing with his system better too!
