Good evening,

Binies bg is horrible. Today I had to go away for work from +2 to +8 and the libre was on HI (over 500) when I left and the same when I came back. I don't know if she went lower during the day because the graph doesn't show anything over 350 so it seems she stayed high all day.

To my surprise she is eating better and she suddenly becomes very fond of wet food which was a struggle in all these years she is living with me. She is still sleepy but cleaning herself and just now she went out for a little walk on the terrace. Her ketones have been 0.3 at 8.5 which is higher than yesterday but o.k. for this time of the day.

On sunday morning she will get the antibiotics the last time. Then 14 days are full. I wonder what is happening with her bg then. After one week we will do another urine test and see if it worked.

Unfortunately there is someting strange going on with the libre. On Wednesday evening and Thursday morning the libre showed error messages for more than an hour and I didn't get readings. I removed the old libre which brought the same problems and there was an inflammation where the filament went in. On the Abbott hotline they told me that this can mess with the readings. I hope she doesn't start to react sensitive on the libre. Yesterday during the day and last night all was working well. I hope it stays like that.

It's a strange time. I feel we are stumbling from one health crisis into another. Thank god, she doesn't seem to suffer.

I hope everyone has a good start in the weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike,
I’m glad to hear Binie is eating wet food and enjoying it lately.
I wonder what changed for her?

Glad ketones are ok and she’s grooming as usual. And she loves her terrace so that’s nice she went for a walk out there.

Question, are you changing the site of the Libre each time you replace it? I assume you are not using the exact spot and going on the left one time and the right the next time. (Just want to double check.)

I’ve seen error messages for over an hour sometimes. (I usually get no readings when Ivy lingers in “Lo” range for a long time). Then sometimes (often) the sensor will then fail as it did this morning:banghead::banghead::spam::spam:

I hope her bg comes down after Sunday when the meds are done and she then clears this infection.
We are crossing everything with big hopes for Binie!
Wishing you both a restful night and lots of hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

thank you so much for sharing your experience and your support! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I really don't know why she eats more wet food but I am super happy because I try to change her diet since she is living with me. I can't tell you how much high quality wet food I threw away during the last ten years because she barley touched it. Yesterday and today she finished her plate and I couldn't believe it. Maybe she feels that it is better for her and she needs the moisture? First I thought it is because I gave 10% and it is more tastey but tonight she got the 5 % and she ate it with good appetite. I really hope she continues with that.

Yes, I am changing the site with every new libre and I also try to put it in a slightly different location but the ideal space to put it is limited in her case. Strange enough, the last libre, where the inflammation was, was on a place I never putted a libre before. I tried to experiment if she would tolerate a libre a bit more in the middle of her body because I thought the skin would fold less. There is still something which feels like a bump or a pimple so I think there is a inflammation inside.

I can imagine it is super stressful to see the libre failing when Ivy is low. :( I hope the new libre works fine and stays on for the full duration or for the number of days you intend it to stay on. Seems like Ivy is bouncing now. I hope you can sleep well and without worries tonight! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I knew you must be changing sites, just wanted to discuss in case we overlooked that. I know they say to avoid the spine.
I know you are so thorough, Heike ❤️

Well let’s just be happy Binie suddenly decided to enjoy her wet food!!

Thank you for the good wishes as well. ❤️
I hope Ivy can surf without pushing the limits of the Libre, too.

Get some rest :bighug::bighug::bighug:
