Yesterday's Condo

Willie is currently trying to charm his way back onto my good side. Between gashing my arm at 6am crawling on me to wake me up (even though, with last night's stall, we got to sleep in until 8) and trying to veto this morning's food selection of a blend of raw and BG Chicken (diluted so as to reduce the overall phosphorus content), he is on my list! He was so funny... nibbles of food, staring at the bowl, another nibble, then sitting between the dining room and kitchen, scowling in all his furry glory. When that didn't work, he ran into the bedroom, where he knew I was headed, to plead his case one more time with fervent meows. Request for leniency DENIED (especially given the gash in my arm!! :lol: :lol: :lol: ). He went off in a huff to the food bowl, though was sure to stop licking his lips as he came back into the bedroom. He's now cuddled up next to me, all purrs, waiting for me to finish typing so he can cuddle my hand. Surprised he's not in trying to wake up DS... before his diagnosis, she would always feel bad for he and Miss Belle and their homemade food, so when she would cat sit for me, she'd get them Friskies from the gas station. With our homemade food back then having a significant amount of pumpkin (and thus carbs) in it, turns out that gas station pate was the better choice!! :lol: ohmygod_smile :lol: ohmygod_smile

With today being a federal holiday, going to be spending the day shopping and giving DS couponing lessons. She's always just shopped at Christie's Drugstore and never really appreciated the work that went into her being able to get all of that stuff from me for free. With my parents cutting off the payment of her rent as of January, she's now looking for ways to ensure that she can be self-sufficient, so my time with her today will be of good use. May be doing lessons for DSIL as well.... we just found out this weekend that she is expecting... so I'm about to be an aunt!! Woo hoo!!!

Well, his numbers were nice, but Willie, NO CLAWS IN BED! Not a good way to wake up the bean! :shock:

I should take lessons from you too. I know couponing is a real art form. I always had trouble w/ the online ones.

Hi Christie, if you forgot to shoot, those are nice numbers. :lol: Don't feel bad, I have to set the timer to remind myself to shoot with it being so early and if I don't have enough coffee. That's great you're helping DS with saving money and couponing. I use coupons, but like Ann & Tess, not the online ones. You have helped us here with the Mr. Rebates info and other info, so thanks. Nice of you to help your DS become more self-sufficient!! I'm a coupon cutter myself....now if I could always remember to take them with me to the store....and then remember to take them out of my purse and USE them!! I usually go online to all my local supermarkets and make a shopping list through their site of the things I want that they have on sale. I then take those lists to my local Walmart because they'll price match everything, no questions asked. A lot of times Walmart's prices are still lower than the supermarket sale prices, but other times you can save a ton, especially if you remember to use your coupons!!

Wow all this talk of couponing makes me feel like a dough head, I'm soooo bad for throwing things into my cart without even looking at prices then wondering why I pay so much at the till. I was amazed when I watched extreme couponing on TLC last week.......all I'm gonna say is WOW!!!

At least Willie will still eat his food when he gets fussy, Leo on the other hand would go a whole day without eating less desirable food. Funny about your DS sneaking out to buy food when you aren't home.

Quite the morning/afternoon we've had... didn't update as I was out working in the yard, then helping out DS. We finally made it out to Target and Walmart. Got a great deal on fall flowers for the front entrance (want it to be pretty for the trick or treaters in a few weeks!).

When his numbers wouldn't budge in the 40s again, I finally just gave him a nice serving of just gravy. Seemed to do the trick... hope it doesn't send him too sky high tonight. Overall his numbers have been good lately, I'm just hoping we can get his curve to tighten a bit and keep him in greens all the time.

I shaved last night, and now I'm wondering if I should have taken the full 0.25u reduction. DS has tomorrow off as well and will be staying at my place, so I can have her poke his ear, which is good as I'll have to be out the door right at shot time. This morning's snafu actually works out well for me... I have a 6:30 game tomorrow night, so I can go to the game, socialize for a bit, then come home in time for his late shot (9pm, though we may bump back to 8:30 tomorrow morning so I can get out the door a bit earlier... DS doesn't do shots). We went from 1.0 to s1.0 last night... wondering if we should stay there, or go ahead and head down to 0.75u.

Willie had a lovely time helping me in the yard, had a bit of cuddle time with both DS and I, and is now sacked out next to me on the bed. Of course, with a tummy full of carbs, I'd probably be sacked out too!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Nice day for Willie!! What a sweet guy, other than the owie on you arm.

I am a couponer. I take all the ads into walmart and make them match prices. The cashiers know me and roll their eyes when I pull up to their lane. It's their policy so I definitely take advantage of it. :lol:

So great of you to help DS. Congratulations on DSIL and being an aunt!!

I know what you mean about taking a shave and then wondering if you should have done the full reduction. We shaved Zener's dose last night and after a bit of a yellow cycle he is on the express train downtown once again.

I swear those kitties can read our minds! I was hoping the same too, then said right before the poke, these numbers can go anywhere. :lol:

Catcher was my favorite position, back in the day when I still had knee cartilage! :lol: I finally hung up the cleats when I couldn't see the ball when it got close, not good for preserving my teeth! :lol:

Looks like someone is catching on to the fact that the 40s get the gravy?!? He's been poo-pooing dinner tonight, and it looks like our trip to the store wasn't long enough to convince him to go ahead and eat it like he did this afternoon... but he did manage to polish off a good sized bowl of food with a couple spoonfuls of gravy. Another bowl with a little less gravy is out, though after he was denied playtime outside (darned curfew! :lol: ) and his case of the crazy eyes passed, he curled up next to me on the bed and is now out cold and getting cuddles. Alarm is set for a +5.

I ended up shaving another drop off for tonight's shot. Don't know what's gotten into him, heading downward so quickly in the cycle. Am concerned that his shed might still be a bit too full???

Thankfully, in slow pitch, you almost always let the ball drop, though you do have to be prepared to make a play at home and sometimes the guys do throw pretty hard. I actually only crouch if I've got a pitcher struggling who really needs me to be a target. I find that standing bent over gives me an extra couple steps on a pop-up, so I'm more likely to get the out... esp. given that I am crazy slow! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Gravy, yummy! Looks like Willie is jonesin' for another dosecrease! Now, he can stop it anytime, nothing left to prove tonight. ;-)
