Good morning!

Yesterday's condo

10/9 AMPS=121; +2=167; +9=167
10/9 PMPS=148; +2=110; +4=117; +6.5=131

10/10 AMPS=97; +1=112; +2=113; +11=160
10/10 PMPS=164; +2=61; +3=54; +4=61; +5.25=77

I am happy to report to you that Lucy finally had a solid normal looking poo last night. :-D
I will continue probiotic for a while longer.
Her mood is neutral this morning, but she ate her 1st breakfast well by finger-feeding.

When I pulled the needle out this morning, a small amount of blood bead formed where I shot.
And there was a small amount of blood in the syringe too.
I think it's from the capillary in the skin, and I don't think I hit her muscle, but I really hate it when she bleeds from a shot.
When a vet tech showed me how shoot, she recommended that I pull the plunger very slightly before pushing it after poking, to make sure I'm not shooting into a blood vessel.
I never did this, but maybe I should.....
Does anyone do this?

I hope everyone's having a nice day!!!

Lookin' good, Lucy! Happy dance over the solid poo!!!!

I've nicked a capillary a couple times, too. I never heard about using that techinque, but I've only done it twice in almost 3 years.

Have a great day, Mariko!

Re: 10/10 Lucy AMPS=97;+1=112;+2=113

Yay on the solid poo. I hope Lucy keeps surfing for you. I've heard of that technique, but never done it.

Re: 10/10 Lucy AMPS=97;+1=112;+2=113

Hi Mariko,

I also have heard of that method, but have never used it. I would need a magnifying glass to see the syringe while it was in her being injected

Yay for solid poo! :-D :-D Hope it continues.

Jane

Hi Mariko,
I'm very good at nicking capillaries! I call them "blood shots". They don't seem to make any difference, so don't worry about them.

Very glad to see that Lucy is feeling good today. She has great numbers.

Enjoy the evening,

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 10/10 Lucy AMPS=97;+1=112;+2=113

My experience is the same as Ella's. I was told it was optional but not to worry about it, just give the shot.
Nice to hear that Lucy is having good digestion!

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164

Hmmm..... this reduction may not stick.....
But Lucy seems to be feeling good.

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164

I don't know....lots of kitties running a little high tonight...it seems suspicious to me. What are they up to?? Glad to hear Lucy is feeling good - that's all that really counts!

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164

Hi Mariko! The vet who originally taught me to give Papaya her shot also did the pulling-back-the-plunger thing, which I attempted for a while but since (a) I never got any blood and (b) with a snapping Papaya, I figured I would need to be an octopus to keep it up . . . I abandoned it and just shoot. I don't think it's strictly necessary when you're just shooting under the skin.

Good LB report! I'm glad Lucy is feeling better than she was. Have a good evening!

Glad to hear Lucy is feeling better and great LB report dancing_cat
Sorry you saw blood  I haven't had any blood yet, but I'm sure someday I will and I'm glad to know it's nothing to worry about.
Keep up the good work Lucy and have a nice night Mariko.

 :thumbup
Surf safely tonight, LucyGirl!

(PS: I've seen the blood droplet, too. Alarming at first, but no biggie  .)

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164;+2=61;+3=54;+4=61

I think she's doing flat quite nicely without extra food.
But she hasn't pooped today yet.....

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164;+2=61;+3=54;+4=61

Wow! Nice night for Lucy.   Keep on surfing Captain Lucy.

I also got shown to do injections and drawing back a bit first. I did it for a while and never saw anything. Then I read somewhere on here that it's not necessary to do so I stopped.

Re: 10/10 Lucy PMPS=164;+2=61;+3=54;+4=61

Glad to hear we had poo! Yay Lucy!!!!

Numbers are looking good.

I've also nicked capillaries; I do know of that technique but don't use it.

Have a great night, thanks for visiting us with support for Gus.
