Happy Columbus Day!!!
columbus-010.gif

And yes..that is the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria  Hope it doesn't make me sea sick looking at it today.

Sending major healing vines to Jetta today and hopes that Jaclyn can get some rest.

Gracie had a lovely blue day yesterday......FLAT..just like what we want. It was so nice to know she was in healing numbers but I didn't have to do a darn thing. So different from Gracie on Lantus. This morning is cool and lovely and Gracie and Tobey both had breffis in bed and they remain there snuggled in the covers. A btb was very tempting but Mike is on the way home. Gracie was a little snuggle bunny all night long....the alarm went off WAY too early for me!

Looks like a vetty visit is the focus of the day for Tobey. His extraction site actually looks WORSE today and he's quieter than usual. He doesn't have a temp and he ate but it's not like him to not be racing around the house first thing in the morning and he didn't come in the kitchen to get breffis like he always does. I'm so worried that they will have to go back in and find that suture or whatever is causing this. It's been three weeks now. cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam I elected to NOT see the surgical vet but to see one of the others since our normal vet is not in today. I think the surgical vet can be somewhat complacent....and all three cats she's done dentals on have had some kind of injury: lacerated tongue on our sweet Teddi Bear, horribly bruised chin on Gus, and now this on Tobes.

Have a great day especially those of you who have a holiday today.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Hi guys .. love, love, love seeing gracie in those nice numbers! Way to go missy! I'm sorry to hear that tobey is still not 100% after the dental .. I hope they don't have to go back in and dig around anymore, but if that is the only way to make it better .. Sending good thoughts your way today!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Good morning! Happy Columbus Day! What a great day for Gracie yesterday! Hope she surfs the blues for you today as well. Oh btb would be nice, huh?

Good luck at the vetty! Hope they figure out why Tobey isn't healing.

Have a great day!!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Good morning, Marje, Gracie, Tobey, Gus and soon-to-be-home Mike! Gracie, those numbers are very nice, blue and flat. I am happy to see that! Poor Tobey, I hope the vetty can figure out the problem with your jaw. Thinking of you on this beautiful fall day.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Hi Marje!!! I sure hope Tobes doesn't have to endure anymore messing about with this poor mouth!!! Gracie had a great day yesterday....she'll get there today!!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

wow on what you just said about past dentals not sure i would keep going to this vet if it were me confused_cat but that aside hope Miss Gracie has another surf on the horizon and healing/feel better vines for Tobey

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

I second Lisa on that surgical vet. Three strikes, you're OUT! Poor Tobey!

Great numbers on Gracie yesterday. Are you ready for a repeat sweet girl?

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Giving mom a break today , Gracie? A gentle slide into blue/grene would make her even happier. You and Tess work on that together!

poor Tobey, I was thinking the same thing on Tobey's vet. I'd definitely mention it at the clinic too. You are diligent caregivers and good clients! Paws crossed no more surgery is needed.

Gracie, dune sliding today? and then we can come and give Tobes a nice rubdown to get rid of the vetty smell. Does he need soup too? -- Tess

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210

Poor Tobes!! :o I'm gonna second what everybody else said, three strikes and you're out surgical vet!!! Are you still giving him pain meds? I can imagine his poor mouth probably still hurts.

Lovely, lovely day for Miss Gracie yesterday!!!

Enjoy your holiday and time with Mike.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210 +3 209

Hi Ya'll....just got back from the vetty.

Wellll...on the one who did the surgery...she owns the clinic. When it happened with Teddi, I thought....well, she has a tiny mouth and things like this can happen. But Tobey and Gus had their dentals on the same day and it was the ONLY day we could get the anesthesiologist that we love as she has a pretty crazy schedule; I knew Gus had some stuff going on and just couldn't wait another month but as it happens, the same vet that did Teddi's dental was the one doing dentals that day. I have talked to my regular vet and also the vet we saw today who I really, really, really like alot, too. But ...not much they can do but empathize since the surgical vet is the owner. I told the vet today that I had asked after Tobey's dental if he shouldn't be on ABs....our other vet always did after extractions cuz she said you really stir up the bacteria in there. The one good thing is they haven't charged me for anything else.

Anyway....Tobey's extraction site is now infected. There was a tiny piece of suture in there. The metronidazole didn't help at all. The vet gave him a local and flushed it really good (there was just a little pus) and took out the fragment. She said he was a doll baby  She put him on the clindamycin which is what he should have left with in the first place. He has to go back next week. arrrgghhhhh....then we have to be so careful to watch him that his herpes does not pop up again...I just had to take him off his oral anti viral.

Too early to know what the Gracie day will bring but she didn't go up at +3 which is good. Hmmm...why couldn't she just hover at below 200?   Ok...I'll just convince myself that with meter variance and it being a plasma-calibrated meter, that she probably is in the 100s! There!!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210 +3 209

Ah, the owner. That explains a lot, doesn't it. I hope he is on the real road to recovery now. OK, Gracie, let's see a little blue this afternoon.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie AMPS 210 +3 209

Hi Marje, oh gosh, poor Tobes, he sure has had a rough time, but it looks like it was a good visit, treatment and now you have the antibiotic, so recovery road ahead and some chicken soup from all his pals. Sending some healing vines from us, too. Thanks for visiting us last evening; I fell asleep early. I'm probably just getting up when everyone else is going tb. Gracie is doing so wonderful on Lev; you and Mike must be so proud of her, like night and day from Lantus. Have a nice day and scritches to Gracie, Tobes and Gus. Hugs.

Nice for Gracie!

Poor Tobes, though! I'll be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers. Lucky for him he's got such a great bean who pays attention and notices when he's not feeling like himself. Get better quickly, little guy!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie PMPS 200

Hi Ann: yes...we are so much happier with Gracie's curves on the lev. They aren't perfect but they are so much better. She's only thrown us a couple dives and even though she's still bouncing, everything overall seems flatter and gentler.
Gotta check on Maggie and make sure she is better.

Amy: Gracie listened and spent the afternoon in blue, we think. Hope she keeps up a nice flat curve tonight...lower would be good but not too. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for Tobey.

Speaking of....he seems much better tonight....he's his rough and tumble baby boy self. I think once they flushed the pus, it helped with the swelling and that has to feel better. I sure hope this resolves.

We went to see "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt. OUTSTANDING...and Brad is so very easy on the eyes!!!

Re: 10j/10 Gracie PMPS 200

Oh no, Poor Tobes!! At least Miss Gracie is continuing to give you pretty, flat numbers! Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Tobey!! De bean sez dat instead of bringin u de KTSS chicken soup, she is makin' a cinnamum cake into a smoothie for u so dat it won't be too hard for ur toofies, an' will be nice an cold. I promise not to drink it on de way! --Willie

Re: 10j/10 Gracie PMPS 200

So happy to hear that Tobey is feeling better. You sure have had a lot going on. Sending you a big hug!

Gracie's numbers do look much different and more consistent on Lev. There is definitely progress.

Thanks for the movie suggestion. I added it to my list. I have loved Brad Pitt since Thelma and Louise.

Such a lovely evening in Tucson. Hope you are all enjoying it. I love it when the heat breaks and we start to cool down.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie PMPS 200

Hi Guys,
Gracie, you are making your mamabean very happy. That 200 sure looks blue to me! Tobey, your Auntie Ellabean is glad that you are feeling better and wants you to feel even better tomorrow. A nice cinnamon cake will be waiting for you at the full moon party.

Hi Marje, What a bummer about Tobey's dental. But at least you got them to fix it and get him the a/bs he needs to heal. I hope the herpes will just stay away. Poor Tobey doesn't need another "thing"!
Nice that Mike is home. All of you have a good evening.

Ella & Rusty
Thanks for visiting Rusty today.

Re: 10j/10 Gracie PMPS 200
