Good morning everyone! Great day for ACHILLES! Callie and I are going to have a lazy fun day. She's getting a LOT of lovin and pettin for all her hard work. I did more shopping for her yesterday. BTW if you see that Walmart is out of strips, don't get frantic (like me). I went to the pharmacy window and asked if they had more .. lo and behold I didn't leave empty handed (WHEW) I got 2 boxes of the 20 and I'll go back for more next week. Libby, play days, where you don't have to poke so often, are the best, indeed!

That happened to me once with the Relion strips. I panicked when it looked like they were out, and WalMart is a long drive for me. Lo and behold, they had a supply in the pharmacy...whew!

Hey Barb,
Well Callie is sleeping now and snoring loudly! She is the only cat I have known to SNORE! Kinda cute and she can't hide long. When she goes to sleep I follow the snores ;-) I am just lurking for a few minutes .. till she awakes & then more play. I need to get a range from +7-+9 so it's vack to business later. I've had the same experience with Walmart, have to ask at the pharmacy pretty often actually!

Hi Libby. I just read your profile and love how you truly are the mommy to your 3 babies (10 year old babies, hee, hee). That was a lot of nursing you had to do to teach them how to pee/poo and eat. So sweet!

I'm glad that only one of the 3 developed diabetes, it would have been tough to wrangle 3 of them at once for testing and shots. Whew!

I also have a kitty that snores and it is so funny, but it's very soothing to hear that little buzzing snore as I read or work quietly.

That happened to me in the past Walmart. Then strangely, they seem to always have plenty nowadays. I personally think it's ME and all my purchases that made them order more. :lol:
The shelf is always well stocked now!

At our Walmart, you HAVE to get them from the pharmacy, they don't put them out on the shelves at all. Nice on the play day - enjoy yourselves!

Hey Laurie, Pat , Annie and CD .. we had a lot of fun. I'll have to do this more often. I have been too uptight about getting numbers that I miss the good cuddles and lovin my kitties bring. And they have missed the petting and playtime too. Callie is doing great and even with a backslide (bad mama) I think she will be in the blue by tomorrow. She doesn't let me down and I won't let her down either! I know now that I better keep extra strips around now since 2 of you have been through this. It surprised me though. It is their monitor and strips so I would think they would keep a nice ample supply (G) Also it is good to know that another cat snores too. I think, like you, that it's comforting. I can fall asleep to it (G) I am testing a range around the +7-+9s to see if that is where her nadir is located. I wonder if this is the best time for this since she is thrown off by my sleeping in before. Ah well .. just have to see! I can't get a read on her, it's up down up down. I was told it's about time to increase a bit so I will have to try that tomorrow (by .25 only) and see if I can get her in the lowest 200s and mostly 100s. Need to make sure her body can recover and pancreas can heal. You all have a great evening and take care of you and yours.

Callie has gone to 49. I just thought to check before bed and she dropped more than I ever thought! What could cause this? We got off schedule. but not that far off .. I gave her 17 carb wet and I take readings at 15 min intervals. Have supplies ready. What else can I do? Libby and Callie (and civies: brother Buddy and sister Missy)

retest in 15 -20 minutes and post the number. looks like callie is getting close to nadir. you're doing fine. i'll stick around to wait for your next number...


ps --- what dose did you shoot tonight?
 
I am sorry .. something had to be wrong with the strip. She now reads 249 not 49. I redid test abut 12 mins later and this has to be right. Wow I was shocked at a fall like that. Please tell me that big a slide doesn't happen! Sorry I got you involved .. but I guess better safe than sorry. Thanks .. Libby and Callie (and civies: brother Buddy and sister Missy)

that sounds about right, but if callie doesn't mind, why don't you grab one more test just to make sure, k?

Hi her dose was the same and no hypo signs. In fact she was feeling prety great and was alert etc. I'll get another reading in 15 min you're right. Safety first. I am sorry about this!

Kinda reminds me of the person here who freaked out at a reading of "25", but the meter was upside-down so it was actually "52". Any time I got a wonky or unexpected reading for Donovan, I repeated it. Seeing "LO" is heartstopping. "HI" is pretty miserable too.

LOL .. 25? I wonder if her readings dropped as fast and far as mine. Once the shock had worn down a little I thought "this is irrational .. better retest NOW. Yes her new reading is at 253. Guess the crisis wasn't even a blip! I need to go through one low and get through with it so I'll quit freaking out! :YMSIGH: Thanks again! Yes thankfully you were here! Callie does seem to make it her business to go offtrack at bedtime and that's why I thought to get a test before bed tonight. Her drops at night need to stop. I am not getting enough sleep :) She is stable and fine. My problem will be dealing with numbers rising due to the 17 carb food I gave her. Should have done a retest ASAP, but I over reacted! Lessons learned :) I am off to bed, but will see everyone 10/11. BTW happy 10/10/10 everyone!

the effects of the hc will clear out, not to worry!
once callie becomes a little more predictable and you get used to seeing double digit numbers, you'll go to bed on green. i do! :mrgreen:
