I gave her a 4.75 skinny this morning. I don't need her dropping too much as I need to get to the store to get her and the others more food. She only has 1 can left, which is for tonight.

Wow, she is doing awesome!!!!

Just in case any newbies are reading, Blackie is on Lantus. With some possible exceptions, you wouldn't shoot PZI on a PS like this one. But it's perfect for Lantus from what I understand! Go Blackie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Rob... That 39 earned her a dose decrease to 4.50u. Unfortunately, we had an invite to dinner tonight, so I couldn't give her that amount. I'll do that tomorrow. Hopefully, she'll do good on this dose. I really don't want to increase her back to 4.75u and do this all over again like I did this a.m. I didn't get a chance to eat until about noon. LOL NOT that I didn't mind it, of course, as Blackie was my first priority. But, Momma's gotta eat too, ya know. LOL

And yes, Joanna... With Lantus, you CAN shoot on a low #. Or you can stall, and wait to see if kitty will raise. Normally, you would test, shoot and then feed (at least that's what I do now). I used to test, feed, then shoot. However, someone pointed out to me that you don't know what # your shooting at when you feed. So, I now reverse the 2. Typically with Lantus, your shots are based on the nadir #'s, not the PS #'s. Lantus also has an overlap, and a storage shed. I like it much better than the ProZinc that Blackie was on. With ProZinc, I found that the insulin wore off, and Blackie was in the much higher # range. With Lantus, she does go up, but not much. The trick is to try and maintain a certain # level, which are mainly in the greens. I'm still working on it.

P.S. If what I said above doesnt' make much sense, it's because it's midnight, we just got home from dinner, and Im' very tired. LOL
