Boomer ate all his overnight fuds!

Allen ate ok last night but definitely not as much as he usually eats. He didn't leave a deposit in his lb.

Thank you everyone for the vines, prayers, thoughts, and hugs. Unfortunately we received bad news yesterday. My dear Husband has prostate cancer. That's all we know right now. He's being scheduled for a bone scan and an MRI to determine whether it has spread. The urologist we met with yesterday was the one that did the biopsy 2 weeks ago, he had taken 6 samples and the cancer cells were in all 6. Coming home from the appointment felt very strange.....everything has changed yet nothing has changed. Boomer and Allen still need to be taken care of, dinner still needs to be made and eaten, laundry still needs to be done. Etc. I feel like I should be doing something else but know that I need to be doing the same old things. My head is spinning with questions but they're all questions about what the future will be like and they can't be answered yet. So I'm just trying to keep it together.

I'm so sorry for the news Judy. So many people are getting cancer these days it's frightening. It doesn't seem to make any difference in lifestyle etc. Loads of vines and prayers it has not spread and the treatment option once determined does the trick. The waiting part is so difficult and try to take care of yourself too :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

So sorry to hear this. Did the Drs give you a plan of action?

:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Right now the plan is to find out whether it's spread. I imagine we will find out about those other tests today and they'll be within a couple of weeks. Surgery will happen if it hasn't spread. Surgery might happen if it has spread, depending on where it spread to. Possible radiation. If it's spread to the bones its the very worst scenario; nothing they can do.

Thanks Karen.

Oh Judy, hugs to you and DH. When do you hear more from the doctor about where you go from here? Like Karen, I'm sending lots of vines that it's contained, slow-moving, and easily treatable. Many hugs along with healing and comfort vines going out to you both. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hopefully we will hear today about the bone scan and MRI. The nurse-navigator indicated they would be within 2 weeks; obviously I'm hoping for next week.

So so sorry about the prostate cancer! Are they going to do a PET/CT scan? In the US, this is the scan that is most often performed when looking for metastasis of cancer. I know personally just how horrifying to hear that you have cancer but please know that it is not always fatal. I am a breast cancer survivor of 8 years this month. You and DH are at the beginning of a long journey that hopefully, has a happy ending! Sending many hugs, prayers and vines!

Judy , my DH and I went successfully thru same diagnosis several years ago so I know what it feels like . Sending prayers that it is contained, easily treated and you both get past this time stronger than ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️:bighug:

I know several men who have successfully tackled prostate cancer. Many, many prayers that your DH experiences the same. A cancer diagnosis is also very hard on the family, too, so be sure to take care of yourself as well (which I know, from experience, can be easier said than done...but do try). More vines and prayers...

Thank you again....the FDMB family truly does rock! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
We only got called for the one test which is a bit disappointing; was hoping to have them both scheduled.

Apparently this is often a very slow-growing cancer--vines for that to be true for DH's as well. And extra comfort vines for you both as you learn more about it. And purrs to Boomer and Allen.
