Today marks one year of giving Buddy PZ insulin. We have settled into a system of testing morning and evening pre-shot and giving .4 insulin in a U-100 syringe. Depending on the reading I give food with 0 carb if running high and as much as 13% carb food if running low. This seems to be working for us.
Recently we have gone to all wet food. I had been feeding 3/4 can FF and 1 tbsp dry Orijen at each feeding. The dry was so that he would have something to nibble midday.
So this may be a backwards way of administering the insulin. instead of dosing with insulin according to the readings we are dosing with food and keeping the insulin steady. Thoughts?
