Today Rocky is giving me mostly green numbers.
I'm waiting for more BG to decide what to do tonight.
How long can I delay his PM shot?
I think today's numbers were good because we started off AM with nice 11 (blue) and then lots of greens and blue PM. Is it a good curve? He was a little low at +9 but was steady.
May I please ask for some opinion?
Thank you very much

Beautiful numbers, Marlena. Well done! :D
Isn't it amazing what can happen once the bouncing stops? So much more becomes possible...

Will be interested to see what happens during the morning cycle. That is a low preshot, but I know you will keep a close eye on things. ;)

Rocky is looking good, I think he finally got the idea. Mostly blue/green numbers are very promising. I know it is very stressful but you know what to do when he gets to low. Now you need to pusch little more to keep him stay in the green for most a cycle since it is best way to achieve remission and specially that he was in the remission two times before. I understand you want him to be safe and reduce his dose little this morning but if you look at the 26/2 PM cycle he was 6.4 and 0.5f was OK.

You doing great job I applaud your commitment and surely it will result in good outcome.

I can't help I have to send you this video of Trever:

Ela,
thank you.
The reason I gave 0.5 u AM was very late cycle last night because I had to wait for his number to start rising and also because of a delay I was worried about too much overlap.
So this AM good number but now at +4 we have a yellow number. See what's the rest of the day is going to be like but I'm hoping we get back to blues and greens. At least it looks like we are getting somewhere.
Love to you both
Marlena and Rocky
PS. for some reason the video is not available to see.

Marlena, whatever you do, please don't be disappointed about the yellow numbers today. That's no big deal. And in fact, just think what an improvement this situation is compared to how things were just recently.
Things are improving in leaps and bounds. Woohoo!!!:woot:

Rocky may have gone into yellows today because he lost his insulin overlap, or he may have gone into yellows because he's having a little 'mini bounce' from the green numbers (or both!).

Breathe. Relax. And remind yourself that you're doing a stupendous job. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Eliz,
I'm not at all upset about today's numbers as I expected them and I too think they are not a big deal. He lost overlap I think and hopefully everything is going the right way.
I'm testing again soon and see what happens.
I'm feeling positive and love my Rocky even more, he is so patient and cooperative. Love this dude.
Hugs to you my darling, keep checking on us, it is so encouraging!

Dear Eliz,
Rocky hit 3.3 today but he was fine, gave a lot of food and he's very quickly gone up. This morning I misread his number as 8.6 but in fact it was 8.1. Only just noticed checking the numbers on the meter. I don't know what's wrong with my head. He is now 10.3 and I'm checking again in half an hour. If it is rising I'm thinking about sticking with present dose which seems to be working.
What do you think?

What do you think?
I think you're doing a really excellent job, Marlena. And I suspect there are quite a few folks on this board who would dearly love to be doing so well.

I get a sense that you're starting to develop an instinctive/intuitive 'feeling' for how to deal with Rocky's diabetes....
That .75 does seem to be working at the moment, albeit that Rocky sometimes drops into low numbers. Your wonderful testing skills keep him safe. :bighug:

It may well be though that he soon begins to need less insulin as his body heals. If that happens, then do be prepared to back-pedal on the dosage...

Eliz

Thanks Eliz,
I'm watching him like a hawk!
I do hope I'll have to reduce the dose because it means better regulation, less insulin is always better.
I did manage to get him in remission before (twice on Caninsulin) and his numbers were getting lower so I reduced the dose but carried with a small dose for about a week despite him being in normal range and it worked for us well. I can't remember where I read that you shouldn't stop insulin abruptly but stopping gently and skipping is the way to go. But we're not there yet and maybe we will never reach the goal of total remission but it is my wish to get there and I'm doing everything I can, I still have hope.
Lots of love to you and your babies.
