Zener is doing fine this morning but ugh on that PS. Mr. Liver, everything is ok, please calm down. No poo sightings this morning. We started the Miralax yesterday. Poo patrol continues.

Thinking of ailing kitties, beans, and droolers, especially Isil and Tifil. VERY HAPPY to see Moonie did the Happy Crap Dash last night and no blood in Jetta's recent stools. Only in LL...

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536 ugh

Oh my! Zener, what in the heck are you doing up there? Please come down. That floor is way too high for you!

Morning Liz, good luck with the hunt for poo. I remember it took a few days for Jetta to get on a normal pattern aftrer we started the Miralax.

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536 ugh

Oooo, Zener! Do we look like ants from way up there? The view may be good from your current vantage point, but life is lived down here.

We have become a little poo focused lately.

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536;+1 542 ugh

ouch - Zener - what in the world are you doing wayyyyyyy upppppppppp thereeeeeeeeeeee? Mannie says he can see everything when he up in the stratosphere - true? best not to find out, so down you go.

Sorry for that nasty bounce - I hope Zener comes down soon. Good luck with the poo patrol. :-D

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536;+1 542 ugh

Oh, good grief Zener! What are you doing hanging up there? That is some bounce you have going on. Come on down right this minute!!

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536;+1 542;+3 405 ugh

Hi Liz, and Zener, come down here please! It's looking a little better at the +3, so fingers and paws crossed he comes down. Poo patrol on duty; :-D hope the Miralax helps. Maybe a little picnic might speed it up! Have a good day, Liz.

Re: 1/8 Zener AMPS 536;+1 542;+3 405 ugh

Boy, when Zener decides to bounce, he sure doesn't half-a$$ it, does he?!! Back to LTS for sure!!!

Zener...that is a serious bounce, dude. Go easy - your beans are workin' hard for you!

LOL on the Poo Patrol...but giggles aside, I do hope the Mirilax starts helping Zener feel better.

Have a great night!!

Re: 1/8 Zener PMPS 259 vet visit

Thanks to all for stopping by to encourage Zener today, we spent most of the afternoon at the vet for a re-check during urgent care hours.

Today 1/8/2012
AMPS 536, 10th cycle at 1.75u, 1.15oz 8%,1/16t Miralax, no poo sightings
+1 542, FDCK
+3 405, 1/4PP with 2.5mg Pepcid, 0.65oz 10%, negative ketones
+4 0.45oz 10%
+5.5 407, 1/16t. Miralax, 0.5oz 10%
+9 1/4PP with 1.25mg Raglan, FDCK + 1/16t Miralax
+9.5 FDCK
PMPS 259, 11th cycle @ 1.75u, 0.6oz 11%, 1.0oz 8%

Zener was once again in the "punk" place with poor appy and acting like he was in pain starting last night. We managed to have a successful poo patrol around noon, using binoculars this time, no pudding poo today, scooped it up and him off to the vet for his recheck to see if an enema was necessary or just how things were going. The clinic runs urgent care hours on Sunday but the vet we saw Friday was working so they had advised us to come back. They had several emergencies in the morning so we had to wait, and Zener was a real trooper. She did a thorough exam with some tenderness when palpating his stomach area, otherwise good. The new x-ray showed he had cleared the poo in his rectal area - so no enema necessary! :-D However, she could see pockets of gas and poo in his intestines which indicated to her low motility and probably why he was periodically uncomfortable. So, we are to continue with the Miralax and she added a few days of Raglan to increase GI motility.

We remembered that he has been having some problems like this prior to his FD, with frequent anal gland clogging, and had been giving him pumpkin in his food for that. We stopped the pumpkin post-FD diagnosis. Of course, many things can contribute to his appy issues so we shall see if getting him more regular helps that, it sure can't make it worse.

She also suggested mirtazaopine as an appy stimulant, rather than the cypro, and gave us some to use if his appy decreases and he is not vomiting. She thought this was a better choice than the cypro for effectiveness and without the antihistamine side effects of cypro like drowsiness/decreased activity level. We didn't give him any tonight because he is back to asking for food and his appy is good right now. :thumbup

So, that's where we are at the moment. Zener is feeling much better since coming home from the vet as his PMPS numbers show. We shot his usual dose despite the dropping numbers so will keep a close eye tonight.

@Jaq - we are appreciating more and more the importance of "being regular"!

@Linda - we are all about poo here in LL!

@Michelle & Mannie - thank goodness he dropped back to the yellow floor. Mannie is very motivating for Zener.

@Georgia - he listened to you! ohmygod_smile

@Sienne - ugh and double ugh. Paws crossed Zener has given up parasailing for tonight! nailbite_smile

@Ann & Maggie - we are hopeful about the miralax too, and picnic was enjoyed this evening at PMPS! ;-)

@Patty - yes, it's time for remedial liver training school to start off the new year!

@Celi - it's QEII's posse! All hail the Queen.   Love the pict, much needed laughs around here today.

@Amy - today's tools for poo patrol. We grabbed the binoculars when he went outside, after spotting our "poo prey" I dashed out with a scoop and plastic bag, bagged the poo and off to the vet with a freshie!

Re: 1/8 Zener PMPS 259 vet visit

Yuck on those morning numbers. Glad the poo did its thing and he didn't need the enema. Poor guy. PMPS looking much better.

I hope you guys had a great weekend and the new meds help Zener.

Re: 1/8 Zener PMPS 259 vet visit

Hi guys, we are happy everything went well at the vetty! Your poo patrol is cracking me up  Zener is a very lucky boy to have such dedicated mommies. Miralax requires patience pants, it is gentle which makes it great for everyday use but it takes a while to really kick in. He is off the bupe now, right? It may take a little time for things to get going again... :-D

Re: 1/8 Zener PMPS 259;+1 270 vet visit

No diving, at the moment. ;-)
PMPS 259, 11th cycle @ 1.75u, 0.6oz 11%, 1.0oz 8%
+1 270, 0.65oz 8%

@Melissa & Mr T - we were glad to see things cleared out so no enema needed. And we're happy to see yellow at the start of the PMPS. We have our paws crossed the new meds help.

@Melissa & Bailey - thanks for the info on the gradual nature of the Miralax. We are giving him small amounts during the day to get up to 1/8t 2x/day. Somewhere around 1/8 - 1/4 twice a day seems a common dose here in LL. He is off the bupe, we gave him 0.05mL Fri and Sat and that was the last.

He seems to be feeling much better tonight so far. Both times we've been to this vet, he comes home feeling great. Something about the way she palpates his abdomen seems to ease some of his gas & cramping discomfort right away. :-D

Re: 1/8 Zener PMPS 259;+1 270;+2 178 vet visit

Zener is working his way through the rainbow today. ;-)

PMPS 259, 11th cycle @ 1.75u, 0.6oz 11%, 1.0oz 8%
+1 270, 0.65oz 8%
+2 178, 3/4PP with 3mg Zobaline, 1/16t Miralax, 0.6oz 11% + 1 drop karo

Dropped over 50 at +2 so we went to the MC with a bit of karo to slow the express train.

ETA
+3 181, 0.6oz 8%
+4.5 152, 1/4PP with Raglan
~5 0.4oz 8%

Quiet evening post-vet visit, decent appy with cycle that looks fairly steady, so ni ni LL. I-)
