Yesterday I wrote about hoping for a repeat of the day before. I was so pleased when that is what I got. What a great day for Mannie: blues as far as the eye could see, after a slow slide down from the yellow floor. It is so nice to see Mannie finally settling into this dose. The "B"'s have been less, and not in the stratosphere, and overall levels are more consistent. YAY! Well done Mannie - your bean is proud of you! cat_pet_icon

All is well in Mannieland. :-D :-D In the last few days I've noticed a change in Elsa, my tortie. She's always been rather aloof, a loner in a way, keeps to herself, but in true tortie fashion very independent and loyal to her bean. Lately she's much more at ease, more integrated with the rest of us, spends more time cuddling, snuggling, purring. This has all happened with the passing of BJ - I often wondered how intimidated she was with BJ, guess now I know. She and BJ never fought, got along well together, but never hung out. Just an interesting observation on my part today. I am glad to see her being more social. anyways.... on to Mannie! Nanner integration is almost complete! One nanner and one rainbow to go. There is a wide circle this morning, room for the Nanner King in the middle, with one nanner and one rainbow off to the side. We are beginning to get quite the pile! :lol: :lol: We had a great test feed shoot this morning: lots of purrs and head rubs from Mannie. Breffis was consumed with gusto - still at warp speed, clean plate club status maintained, the auto feeder continues to be used, Elsa continues to raid his auto feeder, and I am still running interception, again and again and again ... :roll: Normalcy in MannieLand.

Whack-a-thon school report: day one complete. let's see: recap: bean on floor, sitting there lifting Mannie's paw and whacking Elsa and then lifting Elsa's paw and whacking Mannie... they were not willing students. Elsa hissed, Mannie looked at me with that "what are you doing?" look. class concluded early...

Have a great day every one! Today is do what I want day. Now to figure out what that is. :lol:

KITTIES!!!!! Wolf Full Moon party - at camp Stu!! it will be so cool. we can go ice fishing, and ice skating and maybe even some sledding. Rusty will have the fire going in the fire place, and i have lots of hot toddy's for the trip. Bus is all prepped - lots of fleece ad hats and mittens and stuff. What a wonderful day Mannie had yesterday and keeping paws and fingers crossed that this is the one. Interesting about Elsa's behavior. Was BJ the dominant cat and Elsa submissive? Maybe now you are getting to see her real personality.

Mannie dude, I am in for kitchen duty if it involves lots of sampling. You know how I love my fuds! Simon

Hi Linda - I so agree! paws crossed! so true on the whacking... silly kitties!

Hi Georgia - I so hope so too. I think so on BJ. I think I didn't full realize how much of a dominant cat she was. She was never aggressive, but sure did run this household, even in her old age. It is nice to see Elsa becoming more social.

I love that you are trying to instigate whacking!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Willie got a good one on Herbie the other day... she had batted Mr. Mousing too close to him, and when she came to retrieve her new friend, Willie gave her a solid whack and then laid down and tried to suffocate Mr. Mousie! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: The look on Herbie's face was priceless! Perhaps I should have him work with Mannie tonight at the party?? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Interesting observations on Elsa's change in behavior. Glad to see that she's feeling more part of the group!

Oh, Mannie is looking great! That nanner pile must be a sight to behold! A regular fort! What a neat kitty he is! And so interesting to hear about how Elsa is blossoming. It sure does look like BJ was the kitty who organized the household. The whack-a-thon was certainly at her instigation. It could be that Mannie and Elsa just played along, and now that they don't have to, they don't whack. Perhaps you should forget about starting it up again??!

Enjoy your day, hopefully with a hike or shore walk. We're about to head out for a stroll. Then it will be time to take down the Xmas decorations.

On Mannie, I hope he does a nice slow slide today. Interesting observation on Elsa, as I found the same with Maggie when my GA kitty crossed over to RB. She became more loving and social, coming out to greet my friends. Glad to see Mannie rearranging the new with the ole nanners. Just wait till DGS sees the good job. I hope Mannie does a nice cycle today in case you want another shoreline walk or hike.

Mannie, I am all ready to help out with the kitched krew. The menu is to die for and can't wait. See ya soon, Mags

Hi Christie - Oh i dunno..... I kinda enjoyed the three posts. been there, done that. :roll: :lol: :lol: so so frustrating when the post takes forever to process. The whacking class was a hoot. They really wanted to have nothing to do with my attempts. It too may have been totally a BJ thing, which si OK. I do miss those crazy mornings here that she got going. Mannie seems to be returning to the fuds dance though - so all is not lost! :lol: I love the willie and the mousie story - way too fun, and yes, maybe Willie can work with Mannie some... :cool:

Hi Liz - so agreed. It is nice to see them back. Hope to see more today. :-D I think you may be right on Elsa - she does seek me out alot, and then will sit for cuddles on my lap, purrs up a storm. It very well could be her sway of offering comfort. It's really nice, and I'll take it!

Hi Ella - the nanner pile is fun, and funny... there are about 4 mousies in it, two rainbows, and maybe 12 nanners :shock: :lol: :lol: :cool: I do believe you are right about BJ being the head honcho here, and that the others were along for the ride. We shall see what transpires, and if they choose no whacks, then it shall be. It will be fun to see what they come up with. and thanks - walk/hike was nice: spent some time hiking the trails that are there, then did the shoreline. Another one of our dramatic skies that we get down there - very very pretty!

Well, it looks like Mannie decided he had gone high enough....has to be ready for the party tonight!!!

The whack-a-thons may be over, but it sounds like Elsa is coming into her own and that's such a wonderful thing!!

I showed my DD the pictures and videos of Nicholas on FB and she's enchanted with him!!! He's so darn cute, she's now anxious to get married and have a little boy!!! I've reiterated over and over that she has to finish college and get married before she needs to think about that!!!

Or maybe she is looking for comfort. It's been a big change for her. Have you thought about getting a second timed feeder/ one for Elsa and one for Mannie? That way he would get his fuds and you wouldn't have to run interference.

Mannie, i don't think you need to worry about Tess looking for the mermaids tonight! :roll:

Mannie, I may need to send my desserts down by the ropes, but I've got Meringue Moons a los Lobos!so light they just might float down on their own. don't worry about coming after me. You are looking so good down there and I'm getting used to this. Besides, I'll have a great view of the moon. Uh-oh, :shock: be sure to send plenty of send fuds up! -- Tess

Hi Ann - I had thought so too on Mannie then got that +9. :shock: You could be right on Elsa - I had thought of that, so we make sure we give lots of pets and cuddles when she is with us. It is a big change for her, Mannie too. Thought of the feeder for Elsa too. It would save alot of grief for all, and I hope she'd just eat hers, and not his too. :lol: :lol: bummer on the no mermaids.... and sorry for the red...
