It has been a very exciting morning! First, I forgot to set my alarm for 5:30 and woke up at 5:43. That was exciting because I slept the whole night! Yay! Tested Zener at 145. :shock: because of all the carbs last night. Reminded myself this is the Arkray so it's more like 175 on Alpha Trak. Waited 20 minutes and got a 155 so gave him the shot. He ate ok then went outside. I stalked him with the flashlight and saw him pee then digging a hole to poop. It was a nice soft one, maybe even a little runny at the end. Yay! I marked it with a stick so Anne can do a thorough investigation later. :lol: :lol: Then he went RUNNING back to the house - it was Binks's "Happy Crap Dash"! :lol: :lol: His appetite is mediocre this morning, I think he's just stuffed. Not surprising. I gave a bit of Tillie's food and he ate that. I'm really glad we switched meters to the Arkray, especially considering all the testing. $$

Thinking of ailing kitties, beans and droolers today, especially Jetta, Moonie and Tifil and their beans and sending healing energy for speedy recoveries. Happy Caturday LL!

Zener's beautiful overnight cycle is still looking awesome this morning. Congrats on the full night of sleep. I hope Anne gets a chance to make up for her pj party.

Yay on the poo! Did you do the happy crap dash too? Oh, no. You were marking the spot for Anne. What a diligent poo stalker you are!

Hooray for poo! :lol: :lol: I can just see you stalking it and marking with a stick :lol: too funny. That must be really confusing with the switch from the Alpha Trak. I am sure you will adjust soon though :-D

That is too funny and first I have seen of this Bink's phrase. Morgaine use to do a Happy Crap try to cover her food bowl dance but my last cat, Merle (GA) would do the dance and then climb a tree. The outdoor kitties have so much more space to express their joy! :smile:

YAY!!! A happy Zener...two happy beans....a great green cycle last night and blue today......PERFECT!!

We often see the happy crap dash around here, too, from Tobes!

I've never ordered SEB powder from an online health store. You want to be careful if you do and only use one you know is extremely reputable.

Hi Anne, nice cycle for Zener today. I have to laugh at stalking Zener for poo and then marking it, and then I read this in Michelle's condo.

Ahhhhhhh gotta love the happy crap dance!! :lol: :lol: :lol: and very funny on the marking the poo so Anne could look at it as well.

Yuck on the price of strips, it's highway robbery! Leo's grandpa is also a diabetic and since he's over 65 all prescriptions including strips are only $15!!!! So Leo and grandpa just share strips and I don't have to spend a fortune buying them anymore!

I hope Zener enjoyed his eat-a-thon yesterday and have a great evening!

We're a little nervous, Zener is not very hungry at PMPS and did not eat all that well this AM. We suspected he was carbed out from last night's PJ party, but it makes us a little nervous when he won't eat much at shot time. ohmygod_smile

We are weening him off the bupe, yesterday we went down to 0.05mL and were going to stop today, but since his eating seems diminished we decided to go ahead and dose him tonight. If his eating stays iffy and no poo in the AM, we will go back to see the vet on Sunday for a possible enema. Thought I'd better put this in Zener's condo so he will read it and start eating!

@Marj - thanks for the info on the SEB powder. We'll check out our local organic grocery. We are a little nervous about his cycle tonight though...

@Ann & Maggie - it was definitely poo patrol. And thank goodness we all hang around Celi and Binks! :lol:

@Tracy - Leo has the best grandpa, sharing strips. So unselfish! ;-)

@Jaq - yep, we are the odd bunch here. I got in some napping today. And we don't know what will happen this PM since Zener's appy has decreased again. :sad:

We have a friend, also a cat owner, who is coming over for dinner tonight. Zener has met her before and likes her so we are hoping he won't disappear at testing time! Will update through the evening about BG and appy. Paws crossed!

Hi Anne & Liz, I hope Zener can get his body back on track, maybe when you no longer have to give the bupe. Is his mouth still bothering him?

Thanks Liz, for the recommendation that I look at Kahtoola snowshoes. I have looked at them in one of the shops and may go back and look again. I like the concept, but have read some unfavorable reviews.

Yes, your first post of the day made me LOL...but Zener...time to get back on the chuck wagon, little man!

We've always called "The Happy Crap Dash" "Post LB Zoomies." Call me crazy, but I like Celi's termonology much better...gonna have to share it with DH. And seriously, where else can you have a silly conversation about LB activities, and everyone around can relate and think it's normal :lol: ! Yes, marking the territory with a stick to show Anne (who is a lucky, lucky girl...such consideration :lol: :lol: :lol: !!!), by far, wins the LB Activity award of the year -and it's only January 7!!!

I hope Z has decided to eat better for you by now...have a lovely evening!

Zener is eating a little bit better now. After Z remembered he knew our guest he relaxed. She stayed here for a week on a house hunting trip last summer and both kitties liked her, so after a couple of hours, both came out and showed off a little with their new toys. :smile:

@Linda - Zener, listen to your auntie Linda about eating. :roll:

@Ella - maybe he was just too stressed to eat, though he wasn't very interested at PMPS before she arrived. His mouth is no longer bothering him, and the vet thinks it is from decreased motility in his intestines and constipation (which is exactly what our AC said Zener was telling her - well, his stomach hurt and things weren't moving). The vet gave him subQ fluids yesterday and laxatone for us to take home, though we didn't realize that was not diabetic friendly. We started him on Miralax today - 1/8t spread out at am and pm. We have him down to 0.05mL bupe now which isn't very much. If his pooping isn't on track in the next 24 hours we are to take him back for an enema. :shock: We will be interested to see what you think of the Kahtoolas.

Sienne - yes, he has been looking very good and we are delighted, perhaps he has finally recovered from the dental. :-D We wonder if the decrease in his numbers could cause a decrease in appy?

@Amy - Liz writes a very funny start of the day condo! And Zener is eating a little better now. You are so right about the crazy things we discuss here in LL that are our "normal". Liz is on outside poo patrol in the am, so will be using the stick marking system again. ohmygod_smile We love Celi's terminology in all things! :lol:

@Christie - so glad our condo gave you a giggle, be on the lookout for the poo stick report in the am. ;-)

@Rhanda - his number are lovely and we are grateful. Now, if his appy will follow along we will be very happy indeed! :razz:
