Max wasn't feeling good last night. Didn't want me to touch him and hid away from people. His stomach seemed tender to the touch, maybe left side-ish. I tried to google that as a symptom. In the middle of the night, he jumped on my bed and woke me up for a snack, and, in the morning, he was like a new cat and seemed to be totally over what was bothering him last night, except for the little bit higher AMPS. I tested him, fed him, and shot him. Then I walked around a little bit to find a vomit and poop accident in different rooms. Ugh! Poor sweetie. This is the 3rd time since November that he's been a little sick and had accidents. Hardly ever had any accidents before that. Of course, November is also when his blood sugar #'s went up, so I wonder if it's related. We've been to the vet several times and ran test after test, and nothing came up in the tests. I don't know what to think. Because of the diabetes, I know I can be a little paranoid. I swear though I've noticed his stomach feeling full another time when he was sick. Then it goes back to normal and he feels better and his #'s are better. Maybe constipation?

Yay...better # for PMPS. Max does seem to be feeling a lot better. Read more about constipation on the internet, and Max's symptoms do sound like that might be it. Looks like we're heading to the vet once again in the next few days.

An easier and cheaper solution would be adding a little miralax to his meals ;-) My seniors all get an 1/8 tsp. twice a day for ummmm maintenance.

Mel and The Fur Gang

My 19 yo civie gets 1/4 tsp every other day to keep her in check. :) (turned 19 in Oct/Nov) She has major constipation issues without it. I buy the Walmart Equate brand, much cheaper.

Miralax is a must especially for the older cats who might not have been on a good diet in their past. Something about the elasticity in their stomachs... My 14 year old civvie was the last to become a raw eater but I noticed that she wasn't pooping so I started mixing in the Miralax and it seemed to take care of her problems. In fact, she is the only one with a water bowl because it makes her want more water.

Thanks all for the great advice! I really appreciate it! I think I'll try a little Miralax first. Since Max just pooped, he won't have any symptoms if I bring him in and seems to be feeling a lot better, so I'm not sure the vet would have any different advice. I'd be more worried if he was still feeling sick.
