Gave Lilly and increase on Sunday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...67-hold-or-increase-dose.223871/#post-2504136

Now I have a dosing method / practical life interference type of question. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to be on my own again with Lilly, because my fiance is starting a training academy away from home. This will be for at least 8 weeks. The bigger problem is, I work an hour and 20 mins ish from home So Mon thru Fri the best I can do is 6am shots and 645/7pm shots (depending on traffic).

Two questions: Should I move away from TR and go back to SLGS? There will be zero opportunities to stall for a low PS and I wont be able to increase until the weekends. Also, what do I do with her dosing at AM and PM. I know Lantus is less forgiving on this front. But I'm not sure this warrants an insulin change? or would it?

Any and all tips appreciated!

[Sorry I haven't had time to update her spreadsheet. Im on my commute to work now and don't have her meter. When I have a chance to sit down and do that I'll move the Januaty data to the 2020 Tab.]

I'm wondering if @Marje and Gracie can help you with your SS - of course you'll have to fill in the numbers and you need to move your tab for the 2020 SS to the first position.

I might be inclined to go back to SLGS if your schedule is very unforgiving - or get up earlier to test - you can get a 10+, 11+ prior to AMPS so you can tell which direction Lily is headed in. That would help avoid/minimize any delays based on falling numbers as it will give you lead time and a better ability to predict what's going to happen at AMPS.

It can be done, but it is more challenging with one caregiver - you'll want to test more at night which means loss of sleep as you'll be setting alarms to check more often when you are at home. Just my thoughts..others may feel differently.

Sorry i don't have an idea of what is best in your case. Other than moving closer to work.

I had a commute once. It was only 16 miles but because of traffic it took over an hour. If there even a fender bender, the road was shut down for hours. I learned that graduation day and students moving in day were days you took off.

I'm not having any issues with the SS. just havent had a chance to plug in the numbers! lol.

I appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately moving closer to work isnt an option either. I work in a prison in the middle of no where ! ha!

Maybe Lilly can become a 'therapy cat' (really quickly) and you can take her to work? ;) Any inmates give you any trouble, she can use her claws on them too... she can be a therapy cat AND a prison guard - all wrapped up in one neat little calico package!:D

I thought along the same lines. A lot of prisons now have programs where inmates do the care, training and socialization of pets to get them ready for adoption. So why not start a cat sitting program for a day. Teach them about FD. Wouldn't it be great if there was such a place we could leave our kitties where they have 24 hr care in their own cells, person that can test, give insulin, feed, give undivided attention to so we can take a vacation without to much worry?

I think going to SLGS is probably a good idea...at least until you see how things are going to work out for you.

I do think you should hold the 1.5 a little longer though (I see you have 1.75 plugged in already for tomorrow night)

The 1.5 took her down to 46 (which is a reduction point on TR) but it's possible some of that could be because of the higher depot. She's dropped into green again though on the 1.5 and it looks like she could be breaking a bounce today.

Hope you can get a +2 tonight to see if she's still coming down.
