Updated: I forgot to mention this earlier when I posted. We had a major cat fight in the backyard this morning, just as I was getting Jude and Hazel's breakfast ready. I'm not sure who it was because typically only Willa (the triples' mama) is back there. It's possible that Chaplin (the triples' feral brother) has made his way back after a two month walk-about. I looked outside but they had scattered by the time I got there. The two of them (J and H) are so funny (funny to me; not to them!) when this happens: standing like little sentinels in the window, looking shocked and startled, and searching for the interlopers. They really do feel threatened. Calming them and telling them it's going to be okay doesn't seem to help much. I'm just hoping this doesn't throw Jude into an FIC flare. I'm not sure what his trigger is, but I have long suspected outside cats to be one.

and i've worried they would see them from the bay window, but somehow it hasn't happened yet.
