Good Morning, Everyone, and Happy Friday. And it's 12th Night! (time to take down the Xmas tree and decorations).
Rusty had a good night and woke us up this morning 2 minutes before the alarm with the "hairball hack". No hairball yet, but he's working on it. We had a good test, shoot & feed, a brief play with the tinsel wand, crinklesack, ladybug pole toy, and Big Bug, a good brushing/combing, and a New Year's weigh-in: 16 lbs. 11.5 oz (gained 2 ounces this week; gotta go back on the "diet"; I'd like to see him at 16 lbs.).
We got a little more snow last night, but the temperature is supposed to rise to above freezing today, and tomorrow we may get rain showers. This has been the strangest winter: the lakes aren't frozen yet, there isn't enough snow, and every time it gets cold and we get a little snow, it gets warm again. Everyone up here is worried.
This afternoon Edward and I are going for a hike on our snowshoes. It will be the first real trial of my new snowshoes. Tomorrow we're going snowshoeing again with some friends. Tonight we're going to another "Christmas dinner". One of our friends, who spent Xmas at her son's house, was disappointed that they didn't have a turkey dinner, so has decided to cook one herself and invite a bunch of us to come and eat it. It will be the 2nd party of the year. (We try for at least 20 parties per year, a "party" being defined as a gathering at which there is food and drink.)
Wishing everyone a good day. Sending lots of healing vines and prayers to Moonie, Tifil, Rocket, Zener, Sid and all kitties in need of them.
