Morning L&L beans,

Went to the allergist yesterday after my reaction to a food I ate last month expecting to see the results listing Soy as something I am allergic to. Nope test came back negative for everything he tested. Now I have mixed feelings that is great news except why did I have throat tightness and breathing and itching?
He seems to think it might be something else in the food that he didn't test for. So I have an Epipen he wants me to carry around. I did yesterday eat at Panda Express and asked for a packet of Soy sauce right after eating my chest got really tight and I started itching. Dr. did say it could be a sensitivity or intolerance just don't eat Soy he said.

Fritz is doing great off Flovent and on the oral pred and holistic stuff. He goes back to the holistic vet next Friday. He did loose 1 pound not a lot but a start. So he's back down to 28lbs not 29lb.

Surf safe kitties!!!!!

Doodlebug your on our minds:cat::bighug:

I'm glad Fritz is doing well. Sorry you didn't get a clear answer from the allergist. It sounds like you definitely need to avoid soy. At least you know you're not allergic to anything else. Sending prayers.

Will the doctor test for things he didn't?
Only if I keep having the tightness in throat and chest. He mentioned an environmental test he was wondering if something outdoors triggered it? So for now I carry the Epipen with me.

Glad you got the epi pen, nice to know you can counter anything right away:bighug::bighug:
The instant itching is what happens to everyone in my family with gluten, especially if it has been a long time since a dose:( (celiacs)
maybe a dose of something you have managed to avoid and got dosed with in the meal?
Feel better vines:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Ugh, mystery illness with no diagnosis is frustrating. Glad you go the epipen. Itching and throat tightness was never a symptom before my celiac dx which took many years of misdiagnosis and 4 surgeries later. I lost tons of weight, my hair was falling out and a severe rash developed on my face eventually. It's another one of those ECID :p

Wonderful to hear Fritz is doing better and 1lb is huge! Hope you have a good day Deb.

Karen I am sorry you had to be a guinea pig for that long. I'm just enjoying no throat pain:bighug::) and yes the pen will be with me. Hope I never need it:nailbiting:
Fritz's depot is dumping today;)

Fritz, what are you doing down there buddy. Glad to see he's up now Deb. Looks like he was under water for a good amount of time. When he's in the 50's you need to pull out the HC or make MC carb out of the LC. If it were me I'd take the dose down tonight. You might try 8.25 units? Hopefully someone else with give their opinion. What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts?
I'm wondering if these numbers are because of the depot built from the 8 units? I was surprised to see that low of numbers with 2ml of steroids. I guess when the insulin builds it over takes the steroid effect. You think 8.25 drop is enough? I was thinking dropping to at least 8. The 149 is food and honey driven. I'm afraid of all that depot at higher dose.
Next time I will give him the LC with honey sooner, especially since it all started at +6.

It's the 8.5 depot would be my guess. You can certainly bring him back to 8 units and try again. I wonder if he did something funny on 1/3 and has been bouncing seeing this is the 6th cycle from that day. At any rate, 8 units is probably a better idea now that I looked at the SS again. Not sure I'd go lower than that but you can do a BCS tonight depending on how the rest of the cycle goes to help drain the depot a bit.
