Good morning World! Welcome to our home! Yesterday

DAKOTA
AMPS 484

Never got back to clean up Doc's condo yesterday but what a BEAUTIFUL day of numbers he had. Unfortunately we're back to ugly red this morning, likely a bounce from yesterday. He threw up a furball about an hour before test time this morning - those seem to raise his bg. I learned a couple of days ago that his long time foster had been putting chamomile tea bags on his leaky eye to keep it clear. I finally learn this over 1.5 years later? ARGH!!! Got some yesterday, will start tea compresses on it today - likely optical herpes.

All is well with everyone here....Bebo's finally eating soft food all the time, Snow is too BUT he's awfully grumpy about it. He comes up and sits beside us - if it looks like we're going to move, he darts toward the kitchen hollering. That's his usual 'Hard food bowl please' action. When we don't move, he starts patting our legs, if we STILL don't get up, he pulls out the claws with that 'pat'. His claws are AWFUL - like little knives that puncture and slice quickly.

We're about to get the second wave of BRRRRRR come in - it's 33 right now at 10am, today's high should be about 40 BUT then the bottom falls out. Forecast is for low of 8-12 degrees next few nights. Neighbor and 2 daughters leave for a 7 day WARM cruise Friday, I'll be babysitting a little Peke that's terrified of cats and pees everywhere in the house if there's females around. Since that's all we have that will be around him, I'll likely leave him at his house quite a bit. He's used to that so it won't be any big deal other than for me. Getting out, driving the block down and letting him out to take care of business, waiting then driving back. It's too cold to walk - water laden air off the lake is COLD!

Don't you just love Dyana's new baby, T Hanks? Looks SO much like 'Stache! Josie and Ripley (GA) also got a new beautiful baby! Mariko has a new FUZZY baby too! WOOHOO! BJ posted pics of Bits and Smudge the other day - what cuties she's taming too.

Thoughts and prayers today for all needing them - extra big ones for Laura and Skinky. I see lots of new extra sweet kitties joining us too!

HUGS for all that visit today - DANCE! We may have to make them Garage dances today - watch out tho', don't trip over something!!

HUGS

Awwwwww Doc, blues aren't that scary. Paws crossed that this will be a short bounce.

Emma had gunky eyes when we found her too. Is Doc getting l-lysine? She was on antiviral drops for a couple of months, but once the inflammation was taken care of she's just getting the l-Lysine, at first 500mg BID now 250 BID. We still clean her eyes w/ warm compresses every morning though.

For your counter are you looking for something like one of these? I don't know what would go around that round end other than plastic. Or are you talking about the aluminum trim that screws on?

@Ann & Tess!!!! THAT'S IT!!! WOOT WOOT!!! THANK YOU! This one:

Aluminum Trim

That's exactly what I have been searching for but NO idea what to call it! The first ones have to have a slot in the middle, I could find those but couldn't find the alum ones! THANK YOU AGAIN!!! Oh it's even a BETTER Dancing day!!

All kinds of help here in LantusLand. :joyful: :joyful: :joyful: I wish I could help with that ugly bounce, but Doc will have to do that on his own. Get to work, Mr. P! Stay warm!

@Ann & Tess @Anne & Zener (GA) - here's the island in 'normal' use. Snow is on that peninsula (trash can lives below it, hard outside corners. It curves back to the cabinets on right for a step table (potato bin) to help them get up on it....hard inside corners. There's also cut tile under that vinyl tablecloth but edges are going to be nightmare and haven't gone that way either. Can't leave it wood as Snow scratches grooves in wood....he has saws for nails.

If you know anyone who does woodworking, they could easily rout a slot for the Tee molding. that would be the easiest. If you have a router, but not the bit I can send you one.

You know! You might be able to find a strip of plain aluminum at the local hardware store and drill out your own holes. It would be easier to bend than the edgings shaped like [ . Those returns can make it a lot harder to bend.

I have a whole woodshop.... :) I could put the slot in but I'd rather have the edge that screws or nails on for the look if I use brushed alum for top. The more I looked at that one, I realized this still isn't exactly what I'm hunting. What I want is softer aluminum than these are and easy to bend. It actually has a small rolled bead that sits over the top edge by 1/8" to 1/4" - basically just covering the edges but sitting a bit proud. I'll cut the sheet to the edge design and likely use power adhesive to attach but need this to cover those edges of both metal and plywood. I've pulled it off old cabinets! I KNOW it's out there but I just can't locate the source yet. THANKS!

Did I accidentally get on the "This Old House" message board?....LOL

I had that kind of thing when we first moved in here Lyresa but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called either....Good luck on your search though!

Come on down out of the clouds Doc!! Am I going to have to find more examples of what a ball looks like versus what a cat looks like?

Hope he clears the bounce soon and Mr. P realizes that blues are nice numbers!

Try finding someone that does restoring of old Airstream or teardrop trailers. They might have a resource.

Good thought - I'd already checked the regular RV supply as I got my counter plastic edges from there when I redid our bus we had years ago. All theirs was plastic. Didn't think of those RV's. I remember things that had old linoleum tops having this edge I'm thinking about.

Good golly - wrote this 2 hours ago and forgot to post....

I keep doing that too. I think because the new text box is right below the last message, I get distracted and come back it looks just like the posts. It's convenient, but takes some getting used to.
