Zener is doing fine this morning. Nice yellow start, especially after the greens yesterday. And he didn't flinch at his shot as he has been doing lately. Maybe this bean is figuring it out. I am really liking the Arkway meter. It sucks the blood up quickly and seems to need less than the Alpha Trak. Zener had his picnic, after checking out the yard and doing his business. No intruders this morning so it's off to nap on his fleece pad. We played with the wire toy but then Tillie couldn't help herself and nosed in on the game. He is not very agile so she has a huge advantage and ruins the game for him. It is a bit of showing off on her part too, that little rascal.

Thinking of Isil and Tifil and sending them healing energy. Happy Fursday LL!

Re: 1/5 Zener AMPS 242;+1 267

Hi guys .. yep that was a very nice cycle yesterday! Looks like some flat yellows for zener this morning .. could he be gearing up for an exciting evening cycle? I hope you guys have a great day!

Re: 1/5 Zener AMPS 242;+1 267

What a beautiful cycle Zener had yesterday morning! Followed by a no "b" night and a flat yellow morning. Hummm, got something planned Zener? I love the Relion too, especially the teeny, tiny drop of blood required. Weezer approves of that aspect too.

Have a great day.

Anne taking over for Liz who had a working lunch meeting.

AMPS 242, 4th cycle at 1.75u, 1.65oz 8%
+1 267, 0.6oz 8%
+2 252, 1/4PP with 2.5mg pepcid, 0.6oz 8%
+3 257, 0.6oz 8%
+5 0.1mL Bupe, 0.7oz 8%

We have our appointment with the ER clinic cat vet tomorrow for a second opinion on Zener's pain and some alternatives to bupe and also suggestions for his intermittent nausea where pepcid does not do the trick. It will be good to get established there even if we learn nothing new, as this is the clinic we would need to go to if Zener had an emergency after regular vet clinic hours.

@Devon - thanks for the reminder about excitement following flat yellows! Where the heck did my memory go?

@Linda - we are wondering if these yellows could be his bounce, and we appreciate the reminder about action often following a flat yellow cycle. We are glad to have the Weezer seal of approval for the new meter! :-D

I'm off for our semester Target shopping, the place is a zoo when the students are back in town!

Re: 1/5 Zener AMPS 242;+1 267;+2 252;+3 257

I hope you learn something new at the clinic tomorrow, but either way, as you said, it'll be good to get established there. I hear you on playtime - Oscar ruins it for Cleetus sometimes as well. He's a bit more energetic and has more stamina. Hope these flat yellows bring about some action later!

Re: 1/5 Zener AMPS 242;+1 267;+2 252;+3 257;~7 282

Good luck with the new vetty, it will be interesting to see if she has any ideas. Boy, Zener sure is flat today! Better than diving and bouncing, eh?

We have the same playing problem, only it is our dog, Chloe, who interrupts the games! She so wants to play and doesn't understand kitty games and why the kitties get upset and leave when she tries to play too. Plus she will destroy any cat toys left unattended... definitely an extra challenge having both species!

Re: 1/5 Zener AMPS 242;+1 267;+2 252;+3 257;~7 282

Good luck with the new Vet tomorrow, and it will be interesting on his findings. Nice to hear Zener is back with the picnics. Those are nice flat numbers; I wonder, too, what Zener is planning.

Oh Zener, little sisters are the worst aren't they! Have a great day.

Re: 1/5 Zener PMPS 346;+1 340

Felt a little dampness and insulin smell at shot time, perhaps a partial fur shot? :?

@Anne & Muffin - we decided it was best to get established at the ER clinic when we weren't in the middle of an emergency! ohmygod_smile

@Melissa & Bailey - we like flat much better than diving! :-D Zener and Tillie think dogs (aka droolers) are disgusting, but then they have never been around any much. ;-)

@Ann & Maggie - we never know what surprises Zener has in store for us. The warm weather and above freezing early evening temps are conducive to outdoor business and picnics, kitties are very happy! :-D

@Vyktors Mum - thanks for stopping in our condo and dabbling your fingertips in our winter weather! Vyktor is very handsome. cat_pet_icon

Whew, thought perhaps we had a fur or partial fur shot, but based on his +1 perhaps not. Paws crossed!

I went back to the people vet today and still have vertigo and tinnitus (the medical term for buzzing in the ears). I am better but still need to rest and reduce visual stimulation - a very difficult prescription. I go see a physical therapist specializing in vestibular treatment on Monday. Should be interesting, many of my former students work at this clinic. :-D

Re: 1/5 Zener PMPS 346;+1 340;+2 379 fur shot?

Well poopy, looks like the moisture and smell tell the tale after all.
PMPS 346, 5th cycle at 1.75u, 1.45oz 8%
+1 340, 0.65oz 8%

Guess we will have a poke break tonight, darn.

Re: 1/5 Zener PMPS 346;+1 340;+2 379 fur shot?

the greatest plus of the high numbers - fewer pokeys!

if a source for the pain can't be found, you might consider acupuncture. don't know if it would help or not, but it wouldn't hurt. i hope you can get some answers!

Re: 1/5 Zener PMPS 346;+1 340;+2 379 fur shot?

Thanks for pointing out the positive Julie! And Zener had acupuncture early after diagnosis to help with appetite. He was great with it. I'm sure different points would be used for pain than appy, and perhaps a better choice than the bupe! We'll see what we find out tomorrow.

Well, whether we had a fur shot or not, Zener just went out through his cat door into our garage to use his litter box. This is where both kitties used the litter box before FD. Once we had to set up litter boxes in the house, the Queen of Everything - Tillie, our civvie, decided no more garage for her. It's great Zener is feeling stronger and wants to go out and use the giant "pee palace".

Hope everyone has a calm and restful night with more petting and less worry. ;-) Ni Ni LL! I-)

What a cycle yesterday!! I saw the 61 and, being used to your AT, said 31  and then remembered you changed meters. But still very great numbers!! Glad Zener is feeling and eating better and had his piquenique!!

Hope Target was not too traumatic today!!! And hope you all get some rest and Anne's tinnitis goes away!
