Good morning all, and hoping all had gentle night:bighug:

A quickie...well, kinda quickie ....update:

Spunky at vet today for sedated exam specifically polyp ear, mouth, abdomen and tail. Tail? Yes. I saw yesterday that her tail now has a bend in it that's quite sensitive to the touch. Wasn't that way before Monday. So I'm wondering if something accidentally happened during the traumatic tussle of a blood draw on Monday.

Dancer and Bella buddy buddy this morning, not too thrilled with breakfast offering. But there it is and will see when get home later whether they opted to get on board with it or wait me out.

Azalea chipper and snuggly this morning, appy great at first then stalled for snuggles before I went back downstairs to ready fasting Spunky for day at vetty. She usually finishes fud with a break or two in between.

The minute we got in the parking lot Spunky tensed up and...the look....

Lately I've been catching myself calling Dancer and Spunky Sootie...

Wishing all in LL a good and easy day ❤️❤️❤️

Sending prayers for Spunky's vetty visit. I hope her ear is not bad and her tail will be okay. Nice that Azalea is being so loving. I hope Bella and Dancer decide to eat for you. :bighug::bighug::bighug: as you think of Sootie.

Thanks, Amy, Carla and Les.
At loss for words (surprise surprise), am in car in parking lot pulling self together before heading into the shop. inner collapse/meltdown hit while on way back from bringing Spunky to vet.
You all are saints ❤️❤️❤️

Sending hugs Sina...those waves hit when we least suspect them...I think they are when our heart takes a breath because it's been holding itself together as long as it can without breathing..sending virtual wrapnaround gentle hugs to you:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Piling on more vetty vines for Spunky.

I also think Sootie is letting you know she is there. Some kitties have such a connection to us that I think their spirits just can't bear to leave.

So happy to hear that Azalea is doing well.

Healing vines to Spunky, too! :bighug:

Hi Sina, I hope all went well with Spunky's vetty visit and that the rest of the Tribe continues to do well. Sootie is watching over you for sure.
Here are some more :bighug::bighug::bighug:s

We are home.

I'd started this post almost three hours ago but phone call from Sootie's gi specialist threw me for a loop and then I tumbled off, luckily, last stair step on descent after crawling fud up to the upstairs crowd. Could have been much worse if was full flight of stairs. Ouch. Definitely snow damp in the air. What my Danish grandmother called "rheumatism weather." A day of bookkeeping at the shop and over an hour on hard chair (yes I did get up and stretch in between!) waiting to talk to vetty about Spunky's results, did in my back and legs. When was time to go from one exam room to the next to review digital x-rays, I could not move but for straddling the exam table to force myself upright! That must have been fun to see.

Spunky's happy to be home and decided to eat a bit on her own. Now near three hours later, she is onto thirds. Crossing paws.

Today's test results a bit of a mish mash imo. Seems so to me but I'm taking into account that my guarded view is at the end of long day's sequence of disparate events, emotions and my own bod screaming. Vetty said x-rays normal though didn't get a good picture of liver (hello??? Her liver function numbers were high on Monday), her intestines full of poop ready to pass (doesn't think there's a blockage), other organs look normal, tail normal, bones normal. Deep cleaned polyp ear, saw that polyp same size as a year ago, small smooth polyp at the bottom of inner ear. Too far down and too small to remove. Didn't bring up the ear drum removal surgery this time. The wax that's forming...here we go again...pooling like fud in Sootie's esophagus...is because the polyp obstructs proper drainage.

I mentioned above that Sootie's gi specialist called tonight. Just as I was beginning to write with update of Spunky's day at the vet and before doing supper for Azalea, Bella and Dancer, she called with Sootie's parr assay test results. T-cell lymphoma I think she said. Wish I could say I was full of questions but I felt flat and numb. At least she called the same day results came in. Said cancer was very advanced so not much for her to suggest. Seems my vetty had not contacted her about Sootie's passing; the day we brought Sootie in he said he would because at the time I was deeply distraught and maddeningly frustrated with the specialist group bureaucracy and lag time in them getting back to me by phone or email. She was sorry to hear that Sootie had passed. When I described what happened she surmised that perhaps was a clot or clots in her lungs bc of the advanced cancer.

I'm about to crawl under the covers for awhile and think on the events of the day. Mulling over the likelihood that now is time to get ultrasound to rule out any other possible causes of the recent pain/nausea episodes (may have to find another place to have u/s done bc the traveling vet won't do "fractious" animals (for Spunky, those behaviors based in deeo seated fear and survival). Also find a dermatologist/ear polyp specialist.

Simple sweet good news tonight: azalea ate all her breakfast, was BAR and cuddly for supper. Dancer and Bella nixed their breakfast but were content with supper that included a whisper of plain canned salmon and water! (Chef Sootie clearly in charge of the kitchen tonight).

Wishing all a gentle night with sweet dreams and the vines and fellowship here that we share through thick and thin. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sending healing vines for you and your poor body (I can totally relate). More for poor Spunky. I hope you can find someone that can handle a cat that lives up to its name for the u/s (they usually sedate them).

Yay for Azalea! Keep eating, little girl! It makes us all happy. :woot:

Dancer and Bella, now is not a good time to show what you learned from Sootie. Eat what you are served, please. Think of the all starving cats in the world! ;)

Take some time for you, Sina, and remember, we're always here for you. :bighug:

❤️ Good morning and thank you all❤️
Snow started during the night, nice to see pristine snowfall. A tranquil way to start a day, especially when the snow's not too much and light and fluffy. Heading to the shop soon, creaky bones and all.
Spunky ate well and on her own during the night, Azalea into hunkering and dabbling in breffis, Dancer eating everything she can get her little sniffer into and Bella tentative appy today but right now eating downstairs (a first!), her own fud with nutritional yeast topper
:bighug::bighug:May all have gentle day with happy appies all around:bighug::bighug: with love and hugs from us in Sootie land.❤️❤️
