Happy New Year LL!!
Muffin is ringing in the new year properly, with her first test of 2012 a 75! I'm so proud of my Little One. After her mysterious infection last month, she remains healthy and happy. Her "feed me" antics of knocking things over on the desk have picked up a little lately, and her dish has ended up on the floor a couple of times, but no breaking! She's taken to heading out back every morning again, for a little grass appetizer, or sometimes just to roll around.
So cute! She's also taking some time to herself to play in the front room again! (while the kittens are locked up having breffis) It just warms my heart when she plays. This morning Muffin was already eating breffis when I remembered it was test day, so I went into the next room to get the stuff ready. She heard me and left breffis to come in and get tested. She still has the routine down and is still enormously cooperative. cat_pet_icon What a sweet girl she is, and I'm so very blessed to have her in my life.
Cleetus and Oscar are 8 1/2 months old now, and growing up so fast. We look at them and just can't believe how big they've gotten. They fit in the palms of our hands when they first came to us. Oscar is nearly 8.5 lbs now and Cleetus is just over 9 lbs! Oscar is getting more and more affectionate as he grows up, coming for loves and scritches several times a day, in addition to the early morning cuddles. Both of them are seeking to be in the same room as either DS or myself a bit more often now, too. Cleetus is so definitely a Daddy's boy (very much DS's cat) but he has begun to realize I'm good for a little more than just having thumbs.
Like...I have an electric blanket too!  And he still comes just about every night for his game of undercover monster. He's actually purred for me a couple times too! He's so funny, the second DS touches him, he starts purring away, but he never purrs for me, even when he allows me to love on him for a minute. It's odd for me to not be #1 with an animal in the house, but it's ok, I'm really thrilled for DS getting to experience being the favorite, and he loves it too.
Shnookie's diet got let go a bit over the holidays, and he was fed extra food (it's only fair, right?) But at weigh in time, he's still down an ounce and a half, to 18 lbs 9 oz. Go Shnookie! Kibby seems to be a bit MORE irritated with the kittens lately, and Sam still refuses to come inside, so another session with the animal communicator may be in the cards soon.
The weather here has been record-making warm so far this year, after the 3rd dryest (is that a word? ) December in history. I'm ok with the warm part, but sure wish it would rain!
