Spot is doing well today. I think he did not get to eat his +9 snack (3:00 am), until around 5:45 am this morning. if at all. When I got up this morning and walked out into the kitchen I noticed that not all of his food was gone from the feeder. Ali may have eaten it too. I do know that he woke me up for his +7 snack and then came back to bed with me and slept on/next to me until the alarm went off. He was very furry and purry for his test, ate all his breakfast, told me to hurry it up as I was fixing it, and then proceeded to his new favorate spot, my recliner, after he ate. That is where I left him this morning.

Dental Day for Ralphie! I felt so bad for him this morning....everyone was eating but him. He kept trying to get some kibble from Molly's bowl, but she was a little verbal about it all and alerted me when he got to close. He went into his carrier w/o any trouble and was oh so very quiet on the way to the vet. He has been very quiet lately. Usually, when he is feeling better, I get a whole story all the way to the vet. He was a little verbal when we arrived and he got weighed. He lost .4 lbs. in two weeks. I don't know what in the world got into me, but I got very very emotional at the vet's office, and just couldn't wait to get back into the car, where I had a total breakdown all the way to work. I so desperately want this dental to end all this uncertainty with him. I am so worried. I have never had a pet who got sick and we couldn't figure out what the problem is. I feel so.....useless. There is nothing I can do to make this better, to get him back to the way he was a month ago. Please God, help my boy.....oh, my, I need to stop because I am now starting to cry here at work......sigh, well, at least the girl that called off yesterday is coming in (but another girl called off, but that is my boss's problem today since he supervises her) today and I will be able to go pick him up myself.

Sienna, yes, they did some initial bloodwork a few weeks back when I first started to notice that he was not himself and they will be doing bloodwork today also. I took his bg this morning and it was 227....he has been running slightly higher than usual for him - usually he is 50-70, but since I noticed the change he has been running between 80 - 170. This is the highest he has been since the initial blood work.

I guys. Me mumz is sad today, she is so worried bout my brudder, Ralphie. He is gettin his teefies cleaned today, I told him dat der is nuttin to worry bout, I've gotten my teefies cleaned lots and after it's all ober, he will be able to eats his dinner. I iz worried bout him too. I miss him sleeping on da bed wit me and mumz. He's not feeling well. Can you, my frienz, say a liddle prayer for him wit me today? I tank you berry much and I lubs you all......Lubs, Spot

Hi, Deb.. Spot & Ralphie.. nice # for Spot this morning.. late snack & all ;-)
(((Ralphie))) thinking of you all today & sending well wishes for the dental.. please keep up updated & I know you will.
All will be well :YMHUG: Have a great day, Deb.. try not to worry too much (easy for me say)

Deb, I am keeping you and Ralphie in my thoughts and prayers today. Sending more good dental vines to Ralphie (((((((Deb & Ralphie)))))))
I hope the dental procedure, makes him feel a whole lot better.

Feeling a bit better now that I got a call from vet saying that Ralphie did good for his dental and I can pick him up after 4. They said he had ALOT of tarter but did not have any infections or needed any teeth pulled. Although that is good, that also means that he has no mouth issues that would be causing him to be acting the way he has been.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Re: 1/5 Deb's Spot amps ~ 119/pmps (+12.75) ~78

recap:
amps ~ 119
+9 ~ 78
+12 ~ 58
pmps (+12.75) ~ 78

A happy kitty today. Was not very happy that he had to wait for his dinner, but I didn't feel comfortable shooting the 58. However, the 58 may be due to not having enough blood on the strip. He is now biding his time waiting for his evening test and his snack.

Ralphie update: He was a very cranky man today. Dr. M had a lot of trouble getting the blood work done and getting the IV into him, so they gave him some "different meds" to help calm him down. While he was under the vet had an opportunity to do a very thorough exam of him and said that she could not find anything out of the ordinary. His blood work was good, except bg was over 300, but she felt that was due to stress. She did a urine glucose test and there was no sugar in his urine, so she is not overly concerned with his higher bg readings. I asked to to review the Xrays that Dr. Ann took, just for a second opinion. She saw nothing different that Dr. Ann did except that she felt there was some arthritis in the bones closest to his pelvis and suggested cosequin, which I will order tomorrow. Ralphie's teefies are so pearly white! I had the opportunity to see them before the dental....oh my goodness, what a difference! Dr. m said that there was so much plaque build up that it is very possible that there was so much bacteria in his mouth that my be the reason he wasn't himself. We have discontinued the use of the tramadol because we both felt that may be the reason why he has been off kilter for the past week. As soon as we got home and I opened Ralph's kennel, he ran like a bat out of hell - a very welcome sight since Ralph hasn't moved faster than a snails pace for two weeks - straight out to the kitchen looking for something to eat. He ate a few small meals about forty-five minutes apart and is now taking a nap behind my chair. I will observe him for the next week and see if his behavior is any different. If there is no change, I will look into getting him a neurological exam.

Thank you all for your concern. I hope every kitty had a good day today, along with all beans!

Thanks for the update. Been waiting for your post regarding Ralphie. Glad he seems better. All crossed that was all it was plaque. Have a good night. Come on Ralph, eat and be well.

Gosh Deb what an emotional day for you. I am sorry - but can understand how you feel. there is nothing worse that that useless helpless feeling when you can't figure our what is wrong. I hope that with the dental that things will improve for Ralphie. Maybe that is all it will take. It sounds like a good thing you stopped with the tramadol. There is someone else here on this board that stopped also, since she and her vet felt that it was the reason for one spaced out kitty. Sorry I don't remember who it is. I hope you have a better evening.

Be Better Ralphie!

Spot - I am sorry that your mom is sad. Nine gets that way too when one of us is sick. Our bean worry about us so much, ya know. I said lots of prayers for him today... I hope your brudder Ralphie feels better now that he has been to the vetty bean and this teethies are all spruced up. Does he need some chicken soup, or a KTSS spa treatment? We can be right over. I will get the gang. We gots to care for Ralphie! ~~ Mannie

(((Deb))) I am sorry you are so down. I hope the dental was all that was needed for Ralph.
I remember the first time I took Putty for a dental.....I cried as soon as I got in the car.
