Since Trix has been so flat lately, I have NO idea where this bouncey-looking number came from. It looks like she's starting to clear it, though.

No word on Petey's BW yet...I assume it will be sometime today. He's eating pretty well, no barf incidents from him yesterday. Zen, however, did barf. Ugh. And today, he and Noah are "off". This isn't all that unusual, with their food issues, but I'm extra-sensitive right now....

Morning Amy, looking like Trixie is coming down and hope she has a nice slide into green today. That's good news on Petey with eating. I hope your Vet calls today with the results. Sending vines for Petey and Zen and Noah. That's quite a neat family. I love hearing about all of them but sorry it's so worrisome for you lately. (((Hugs)))

Morning guys sorry about the higher amps this morning but looks like she is working the juice already and coming down! That stinks with all your civvie issues, hope things improve, paws crossed! Have a happy Fursday, it's almost the weekend yay!!

Spoke to the vet this morning before leaving for work. EVerything looks good, except he has an elevated calcium level (I was too shell shocked to ask exactly what it was). Everything else was normal. Of course this could be idiopathic, could be related to mal-absorption because of his digestive problems, could be cancer. I'm trying very hard not to freak out, and not being very successful. I'm worried, because his brother(s)/littermates have similar symptoms, especially Zen (who will be going in to the vetty very shortly, too). I'll be scheduling an ultrasound as soon as I can break away from this torturous class I'm teaching right now.

Our vet did NOT notice anything unusual when she palpated his abomen, nor did she feel any enlarged lymph nodes...not sure if that means anything or not. We're pretty sure we noticed the onset of these problems when we last switched their diets last October, but it's hard to say for sure....

This is just too much for me right now...

Looks like she worked on bringing it down today...

Facing many fuds challenges here. I'm so worried about my boys...none of them would eat after work tonight, and none ate all that great this morning, either. I ran out and bought some of their old old food - one that has some chicken and fish but no grains in it. That did get them all interested and eating. Hopefully the litter box won't be too much of a disaster. I haven't scheduled Petey's US yet, but I did schedule Zen's regular appointment for next week. I just know he's thinner, too, and he's more barfy than usual...I have a feeling he may end up with the same issue....

Hi Amy, that is positive news on Petey with everything looking good except the calcium. Mags also has slightly elevated calcium levels, but the Vet didn't think it necessary to do further testing at this time. I'll be interested in what the u/s shows. So sorry about the civvies and their appys. Was it the Wellness Core that you returned to for their fuds. Fingers and paws crossed they eat and like it and it agrees with them. Sending healing vines and appy vines for all and hugs and comfort vines for you.

It would seem that it's most likely to be a food issue since they are all have the same symptoms. I hope this food agrees with them. Did it cause diarrhea before? You are such a dedicated bean, Amy. Nice PMPS, Trixie, maybe a visit to the lagoon tonight? Nice and slow, 'k?

Hi Amy,

It's time to think positively. I agree with Liz: this certainly sounds like a food issue. Perhaps find one or two foods that they like and that have the ingredients you are looking for and then just stick with that limited number of foods. It could be that too much switching around of foods is causing distress. I hope that your vetty visits and the tests will provide you with some answers. Thinking of you and sending lots of healing vines to your kitties.

Amy, I am so sorry you are dealing with so many food issues. What Ella says makes sense about switching around so much. I am doing that with Cleo, and it doesn't seem to be helping much with her eating. I think switching back to only a few food choices may be the answer.

Simon also has slightly elevated calcium levels and the vet doesn't seem to concerned about it.

Thank you, everyone, for your support. I have to admit, DH and I have a gut feeling that whatever is going on here with the civvies is food related. But, the weight loss in combination with the elevated calcium is concerning. It's SO hard with them, since they have such intense food sensitivities. But, we may have to take a different approach. I've wanted to control everything with diet, and without meds. But, we may have to start thinking about changing that...adjusting their diet, and using meds to control the digestive issues, at least to some degree.

It's all up in the air tonight. I still need to schedule Petey's US, but I've got Zen's regular appointment scheduled, and they ate so happily, even though I know it is fuds that won't totally agree with their tushies. I actually don't switch around their foods too often, since they are so sensitive. But, I think there IS something about this last food (teh Blue Basics Grain Free Turkey adn Potato) that is really not working, even though this is the best the litter box has been in years. As of tonight, we're trying a mix of Wellness Core Turkey and Duck with Orijen (no matter how hard I try to stay away from Wellness, I keep getting pushed back to it...argh.). The trials and tribulations of their food issues is a LOOOOONG story that I don't have the energy to go into right now, though....but again, thank you, everyone...

I hope Trixie will settle in nicely to this dose and give you those nice, green numbers.

Good luck with the fuds issue. I know it's hard and stressful. But you are such a great mom that you will figure it out.

Praying for all your fur babies to get their tummies in sync with the good fuds their dear mom bean will be giving them..Cats are so picky & so sensitive to certain things..one day they love one thing, the next you'd think you poisoned them!!!--I always have fear especially now, of what I feed her...She is actually on ff beef & liver & ff kitten turkey, but that has milk in it, but for Moon it is nutritious..
