Wow -- Simon really is giving me a very green number this morning. I went ahead and gave him the skinny .25 and will re-check at +2 before I leave for work. He is doing great this morning and has been more active lately. His fur looks much better and he is playing longer with his favorite toy (a balled up piece of paper!). He loves playing soccer with it and then dropping it in one of my DH's shoes. Very funny to see.

Re: 12/4 Simon AMPS 80 +2 124

What is going on with Simon's numbers? He seems to bouncing up and down. I'm going to bring home another glucometer from work today and see if my glucometer is reading about the same thing. I probably should invest in a spare monitor in case something happens to it.

Can't help with the numbers. Just want to say good luck with the dosecrease *clapping*. I love hearing about his favourite toy being a balled up piece of paper HAHA - cute!

Good morning guys .. is there any chance this +2 is a food spike? It still isn't a bad number to bounce to though ... and still a good part of the day to come back down as well .. have a great day guys!

Re: 12/4 Simon AMPS 80 +2 124

Yes, it probably is a food spike although it usually doesn't spike up that much. I will get a +6 or +7 reading today and will see where he is.

Re: 12/4 Simon AMPS 80 +2 124

It looks like a food spike. Have you changed his food recently, or his feeding schedule? I notice some other numbers that look like food spikes here and there. It might help you to track his food/feedings in the comments on the SS, it will make it easier to see a pattern if it's the food.

It's still a nice number, Georgia. Simon is doing well.

Great numbers for Simon!! Laurie has a great suggestion and I do this as well. It helps me figure out which foods give her a little bump up and which don't. Good luck!

Re: 12/4 Simon PMPS 94

Laurie, thanks for the advice. I am going to start putting how much I feed Simon and when on my SS to keep track of spikes. His PMPS was good. I brought home another glucometer from work (Accuchek), but it requires you to drop the blood on the side of the strip. I am used to having the blood go on the end and just be "sipped" up instead of dropping it on the strip,. Needless to say, I didn't have any luck comparing the Accuchek to my glucometer. I'm just curious about the difference in meters so I'll try again tonight when I have help from my DH.
