HAPPY FURSDAY!!

I am pleased to report all is well in our little corner of the world after last night's storm. I can't remember the last time I've experienced WIND like that! We have a few small branches in the yard, but even my bloomed daffodil weathered the storm. :smile: There was a small fire near my daughter's (which didn't stay small long!) but, thankfully, they are fine, too. There are a lot of people in the area without power, but after seeing what it did in other areas...

Yesterday, you may recall, I left the ball in Hershey's court to show us something or go back to .75u. Maybe the +7(42) was his way of showing us something? He doesn't know it, but I had already decided against a dosecrease just now because we need to move his shot time. We had an offer to watch baby Sammy during the youth's Super Bowl party...that was an offer we couldn't refuse!

Nice, normal day with Hershey. I heard rompin' and roarin' this morning - all P's in place.

Last summer, Doug had a bicycle accident resulting in a shoulder injury requiring physical therapy. It never has healed right, so today he saw another doctor. He was told the original injury was a 2 and now it is a 5 (scale of 1 to 5). He will be having surgery as soon as they can schedule it. His arm/shoulder will be immobilized for 6 weeks, with a total of 12 weeks recovery. Doug behaving for 12 weeks? Been there...done that...Would appreciate your prayers for the medical team, Doug, and those of trying to hold him down for 12 weeks. ;-)

Hershey really did not want that increase - I guess just mentioning it to him did the trick

My husband has had 4 shoulder surgeries.... rotator cuff.
Prayers for Doug... and you.... recovery will be hard for you both....

That was loud and clear, Hershey don't want no stinkin' dosecrease! Paws crossed for Doug's surgery to be a complete success with a complete recovery. I'll send Zener over with the ropes he uses to bring Mannie down and he can tie Doug down until rehab is completed. ;-) :lol:

Hey, Denise - Thanks for the well-wishes for Doug. I guess Hershey heard the dosecrease threat, now I'm hoping it wasn't a one-time thing to get mom to stop nagging him about numbers. ;-)

Hey, Rhiannon - Oh, my 4 shoulder surgeries?! Doug had surgery for a severed tendon in the other shoulder. It was a 12-week recovery almost 20 years ago, but I remember the recovery time! :roll: We were both ready for him to go back to work! I think the hardest time was once he started feeling like he could do things that he wasn't released to do. Thanks for the prayers!

Hey, Liz - ROPES!!! What an awesome idea; I'll let you know when to send Zener over with them!!!! It seems Hershey may have actually been listening, we'll see if it continues.

Doug- just take it one day at a time, buddy. Let the ladies in the household pamper you and make sure all your needs are met. Seriously, just look at it in "one-day" segments. Before you know it, you'll get through a week. Then 2 weeks. A couple of months from now, you'll look back at it and think "Man, I MISS those days". :lol:

After having surgery, too, I have one word for you...........ICE and lots of it!! ;-) If they offer you a Polar Pac or equivalent, jump on it! Greatest thing ever made for post shoulder surgery and I think it is the 'norm' now.

Hershey? Wish you would have a talk with Lucian, can't wait for his numbers to look as great as yours! flip_cat

Hmmm..... Doug! Do what the doctor says and do your rehab or it could be longer than 12 weeks immobilized.

Patience pants for Doug. We have lots of them here in FDMB! Good luck with the surgery and the recovery. Healing vines for sure!
(at least Doug will be able to use his legs and get some exercise).

Very nice numbers for Hershey today! I hope he continues on this nice theme and remembers there'll be a threat again if he doesn't behave.

Sending healing vines to Doug for his surgery. Think of all the lap time he can provide for the cats. That's a very important job. :lol:

Hey, Deborah - Thanks for the heads up about the Polar Pac. He's never had anything like that...and Doug is no stranger to the OR...the ER, either. ;-) I'd send Hershey over to talk to Lucian, but he's big on shenanigans, so there's no telling what kind of mischief he might teach him! ;-)

I think my sinus infection (that I just spent 4 weeks shaking!) is trying to return, so I'm going to hit it with orange juice/hot chocolate, cold/flu stuff, saline rinses, extra water and extra sleep. Goodnight!!
