At the end of yesterday's condo you said you had to do errands today? Has that already happened?

Re: 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282

Tiggy did that once. We have an inground pool. It was covered but you get like a foot of water on top of the cover. The water freezes. It was spring and the water had frozen but still was maybe 50.
It was a sunny day and I was out doing some gardening and Tiggy was rolling on the deck sprawled out and he rolled straight into the pool.. splash! He immediately started the dog paddle and keeping his head up with this very unusual intense look of concentration, turned round and paddled back. He scrabbled up the cover and got out while Phil and I were running around trying to get the net to grab him with.
Lasted less than 30 seconds but he was cold and wet and ran into the house.
We laughed our asses off once we realized he was ok. Interesting that he swam immediately.. having never seen another animal do it and having never been in water before. But the look on his face was priceless!

Just trying to figure out the timing of when you'll be out and his cycle. When it makes sense to test or feed, etc.

I'm leaving in 10 minutes and will be gone 1.5 hours or less. Should I give him a little of the 16% FF before I leave? If so, about how much? All in all, I will be gone approximately from +3.5 to +5.5, I think...not sure...(leaving at about 11.45 and back by 1:15...gave shot at 9:15.... ??? Can Bob figure that out for me

Re: 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282

Test him now. I don't think the higher carbs are needed, but maybe a spoon of low carb, depending on the number.

+2.5 = 297 ... gave him a nib of no carb cheese

Re: 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282

Okay, looks like he's good, Kat.
Now, go run your errands, and please be careful on the snowy roads. Don't worry or stress about Gobbles. Just get a test when you return home.

haha_smiley Poor Tig! We have an inground pool as well (deck goes from house to pool) and I can see Gob sneaking out onto the deck and doing the same thing....IF...he was allowed out--he's one of those really inteliigent people who are dumb and therefore not allowed out--has no street smarts!

Re: 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282 +2.5~297

+4 = 319 Small amount of vomit while I was gone. I know it was his and not the civvies because there was a small piece of cheese in it (gave him cheese twice when I tested him (as treats)) but it could be that I gave him FF Beef & Chicken LC. I gave him FF Beef LC yesterday and he got the splatters. I've read on the boards that a lot of cats can't handle the Beef flavors. Very probable because he hasn't had anything FF Beef since before his dx.

Re: ? next test 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282 +2.5~297 +4~

Question: For this PM, test at +10, +11 or just give him a rest ?!? till PMPS... I did get a PM +9 and +11 so I'm thinking to let him be...

Re: ? next test 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282 +2.5~297 +4~

since Gobbles tends to throw low preshots from time to time, I think a +11 is always a good idea whenever you can get it. That way if you see a low number at +12, you'll know if he is dropping or surfing. That will help you know whether it is ok to shoot low or not.

Re: ? next test 1/31 Gobbles AMPS 336 +1.75~282 +2.5~297 +4~

Sorry Libby...it was already +11.5 when I got back on board. His PMPS was 477, so I guess we don't have to worry about that tonight, but will do taking one tomorrow morning  The 477 is really high, but last night his PMPS was 571! Hopefully he is clearing a bounce--that can take up to 72 hours, correct? When would I begin counting? Thanks

I'm looking at Gobbles' SS for the last few cycles and the way I read it, his last cycle (PM) is better than the 2 previous cycles. I think it's hard to tell if he is (1) bouncing from 2.5 hour delay on 1/30 AM shot or (2) breaking for dose increase... Am I interpreting the numbers/trends wrong?

Re: ? SS interpretation ? 1/31 Gobbles PMPS 477 +3~388 +11~3

Hi Kat,
The pinks are nicer than the red or black for sure. It looks like Gobbles is still bouncing off the greens a couple of days ago.

Thanks for sure!

A +2 or +3 that is much lower than the AMPS might tell you a bounce is clearing...

Oh--I didn't know that--awesome--I'll do a test in a few hours to see where he's at....

Hi Kat,

I was just checking out Gobble's SS, and it looks like his numbers have come down nicely, not too fast, but slow and sure all day.

I saw the note that said you were going to move his shot time up tonight? Just wanted to suggest that you take a reading 1/2 hour prior to PMPS so you can see if he's rising at shot time. Not a huge deal if he isn't, but it would be worth knowing.

Actually, I don't know if I should move it up now - he was 189 at +11 -- so it looks like he's been falling all day--can you take another peek? what the heck? is that good or bad or whatever?

Yes, he's been pretty much flat since +7. He could be coming up, because what happened in those 4 hours isn't known for sure (hey, we can't test every minute!).

Do you need to move him up tonight?

Carl
