Good Morning and Happy Monday!!!

Looks as if BooBoo decided to jump up in the reds this morning... Had a good day yesterday tho, got down into the blues both in the day hours and evening hours too!!!

Thinking about seeing where this goes today and possible dosecrease to .75, maybe Wednesday? Lowest she has gotten so far that I see on my SS is yesterday at 127. I would like to see these lower #'s that everyone else seems to be getting!

Not enough experience here to give dosing advice, but what is BooBoo eating these days, and how often? I know you've answered that question a lot lately, sorry. I'm just looking for an explanation for those gigantic dives your kitty likes to take.

Right now she is eating 9 Lives tuna and chicken and super supper with 4% and 5% carbs and that's it.

Thanks, so much for that theory (assuming she's not sneaking into the dog food). Those are some major dives and bounces she's taking. Hope someone can help you.

Hi, I am not an expert & cannot give dosing advice - but if it were my kitty - I would increase - you need to listen to what others say though. I looked at your SS, it looks like BooBoo was on 1 unit, but then you decreased to .5, I was not around to know why, so I was just wondering. Usually the kitties are not decreased unless they drop below 50 when new. Anyway.. this will bump your condo & the right folks will come through to give you solid advice you can follow safely.
I do understand you want to see better #s, sometimes that can take time.. all the kittes are different ;-) the bounces & dives are very normal for most kitties new to the sugar dance.

When she started on Lantus on 1/25 it was suggested that I start at .5. Start low, go slow. It is now day 7 and not seeing the desired change in #'s still...

The 1u was when on Humulin

Also BooBoo is very unactive. She likes to just lay around and sleep or just lay around and get pet.

Ok.. well I suspect that you will get your answer soon & see 1 unit soon too. What time is your PM shot? An expert will come along.
I know the bounces/dives are frusturating..but it really is normal for most kitties.. until their bodies get used to lower #s ;-)
Lantus is supposed to be a nice "surf" of comparable #s, no diving.. but if you look at a lot of Spreadsheets a lot of us see dives :shock:

I can't provide dosing advice either. Maverick was also and is still a very lazy kitty. He has hind end arthritis. But once we got him regulated he is more social and has more energetic moments. Some kitties are divers and have to get through liver training school. Sienne and others can explain this much better. Maverick wasn't ever a diver thankfully. He's taken it really easy on me.

PM shot is at 8:30pm pacific time... But most likely I would wanna prob do the dose increase after payday (wed) because I had very limited money this week to buy test strips, so i must be sparing and believe me it is hard cuz i wish i could check her constantly to really know what's up! :o

Just wanted to say that i've been playing around with the food thing to see what happens with that, and so haven't fed since BooBoo's amps today and wanted to see where we go at +6 with out a meal and compare what #'s I've been getting with relation to food. So far she has gone lowest so far on lantus just now at +5 at 123. Impressive. Only problem is I don't want her to go too long without food as she is still pretty skinny from the weight loss. I think I need to purchase some 0% carbs next shopping trip. Right now she only gets 4-5% but prob would need some 0% at the +3 feeding for the school schedule I planned for when I start back to school next week and at +8 small snack time...

I think most people feed early on in the cycle and less later on. So keep that in mind. How much weight has BooBoo lost? What are you feeding right now? Have you looked at Binky's charts for some higher calorie low carb food? If she isn't a picky eater you have lots of choice. Maverick is a very picky eater so it was more difficult for us.

I have looked at the food list. I have it printed out and take it to the store, but right now I am making a easy reference list for myself to take to the store with me on Wed. I only feed low carb wet and I have 2 flavors right now. 1 is 4% and 1 is 5% and that's ALL she gets...

Sorry I meant to look at the list and keep in mind calories too not just carbs - low carb of course. For a kitty needing to gain weight - look for low carb, but higher calorie also.

WOW - what a dive for BooBoo today. And this is without food, yes? I feed early in the cycle and less later on - it help slow the dives and makes for a flatter cycle.

I can't advise on the dose, hopefully those that can will be along shortly.

14 cycles on this dose and no green yet, you have room for an increase to 0.75 units BID.

Am I understanding that you didn't feed her during the day? Feed the kitty!

yeah after all that trouble with the scheduling of food, I decided to just try some things out to see what works better. I guess now I understand about the feeding at +1, +2, +3,. is that what you do for the whole day? Or do you give snacks to ur kitty in between +3 and +12? Just seems like an awful long time to go without food...

Also her #'s are looking pretty good today. Totally surfin' the blue, dude!!! Anyway I fed at +6, but it doesn't seem to have affected her #'s too much...

Tomorrow I will try the school schedule I am planning on using when I start school next Monday and see how her #'s are with that. I can do either this schedule I did today, just have to move up the time if need be or the one tom, which ever works out better for her #'s... (that would work with the +1,+2, and +3 feedings too)

I can do a .75 increase. I think i should do it wed, so I can buy a bunch of strips. Didn't have enough to buy the 50 pack yesterday :(. and .75 was what I was thinking too... :)

I fed her at +6 and at her amps earlier... I am totally worried about her going to long without food so don't worry... :smile:
