1/30 Tiger AMPS Hi, Dosing Question after low reading.

Oh no, again! Sorry to read that. I hope you have a nice day :bighug:

Oh no, Deb, did Tiger pull it off? I'm sorry to hear that!:banghead:

Thank you. I think he was playing with my hair (long) while I was asleep this morning and I pulled it away and it got tangled in the sensor……found it right by my pillow. He likes to groom me, lol, but I am afraid he will swallow it so I pulled it away. He was so loving this morning, started at 5am!

Ugh. Do you have the sensor covered with something? If not you absolutely should.

what a fiasco today was! Got up this morning and found Libre sensor next to my pillow! Seems Tiger was all lovey dove this morning and when he got behind my head grooming me, my long hair got tangled in the sensor, so when I pulled my hair away from him, it pulled it out.

Huuby took him to the vet at noon to replace it. It didn’t go well as the tech hit a skin vessel with the insertion and the blood got under the sensor. By the time the sensor was ready an hour later, the low alarm was going off. It read 88 and going down. Next readings went from 88, 80, 67, all the way down to 54. The whole time I’m freaking inside, Hubby finally was able to get away from work and try for a Manual reading. 10 pricks or so, no luck. ( now I find out, vet hasn’t been able to get blood from ear either the last 4 tries).
So off to vet they go.

as soon as he got there they did a manual test. Drawing blood from the leg…it was 112 . But this was at least an hour after he had eaten.

The vet thought since it bled, the blood could be causing inaccurate readings. We opted to change the sensor even tho all we had was the old style Libre. Also since we have no way to know if he went under 90 she thought we should go back to 2u. Her thinking being that he had eaten food (14%) and some kibble at least an hour earlier, and it was only at 112 after all that, it very well could have been under 90 by the time he got to them to test. She felt safer that way…

I think the safest thing is a reduction to the 2u. Do you all agree?

also, as you see on his SS, he has good (100s) numbers during the day lately, but all 300s at night. Bounce from day?

Sorry this was so long….

Hi Deb, I’m sorry you didn’t hear back in time for your shot to help make a decision:(
Glad it went well and Tiger surfs safe on the reduced dose, great job today :bighug::bighug:
