They had him on predisone for 2 weeks I think he was find.2 days ago they call to say he is gone blind again same thing got predisone for him gave him just 1 and he can see again.Has anyone ever heard of this before. Really need your input.......... Thanks Kath

Hugsssssssssssss tons of healing green light to all

Has his blood pressure (BP) been measure? HIgh BP can cause detached retinas and thus blindness. It is usually reversible if treated fast.

Also, any sort of tumor on the optic nerves can interfere with nerve transmission. Prednisone sometimes slightly shrinks these.

Have any x-rays been done?

Tucker went blind for a little over a day when his steroid was switched from Prednisolone to Prednisone during a recent shortage of his original steroid. The affect of having to switch caused his brain tumor to swell, we assume the tumor put pressure on his optic nerve, once that shrunk he got his vision back. Tucker must remain on Prednisolone, he cannot be taken off of it.

I did have another cat that went blind from high blood pressure, she was 18 and did okay without having her vision.
