Advice needed.

Recap:
PMPS 331 1.6u given and fed
+3 186
+5 103 1oz frozen FF given
+7 80
+8 86
AMPS 241

A beautiful run. Told vet I would hold him at 1.5u...which in a way I have. I've shot in the range of 1.4-1.6u

Thoughts on thsi dose? Hold at 1.6? Go down to 1.4? Gosh, this dance is confusing...Jax keeps changing the steps on me.

Ok. Decided to go with 1.4u Better to potentially go slightly lower than bring his BG down too much. If necessary I can try to sway the BG by food. Hope he has another good run. Would LOVE more of these problems to have.

Just gave 2oz of low carb FF and some 100% shaved tuna. Will try this 1st and get a read before breaking out the gravy. What a curveball.
 
Could throw this Relion meter against the wall. Retested and got 293?! What in the world? (although that sounds more like it.)

If 293 is accurate SO glad I did not give gravy...and my now grooming sweet Jax is glad he got some shaved tuna out of this as I have elimated it from his diet previously.

Will test in 15 to be certain.
 
Good grief!

For future reference, it's always a good idea to retest unexpected lows/highs beforw reacting. At least you know what to do if the low is accurate.
 
Yes Lisa, saw that wonky # and just blinked as we just went through that (although it was the real deal then last week) with a +4 47.

Super glad it isn't accurate. Just retested and it's 342. All low carb goodness so I hope he levels off.

Next time will immediately test again before running about like chicken little. :oops:
 
At first reading this my stomach went into my throat,
and I said AGAIN!
so glad it was a false reading!

Wrapping up the morning cycle. Wish I would have held the 1.6u. At least now I know I can shoot that with a ps in the 240 range.

AMPS 241 1.4u given and fed
+3 293 2oz FF and shaved tuna given due to faulty Relion read
+6 289
+11 320
PMPS 354 1.6u given and fed

Overall a pretty flat day. Hoping for a good evening cycle
