Good morning fellow tuxie!

Luci's sending good vibes to continued low numbers - surf baby surf...

Now, if I could just get Luci to do the same...a blue start at least today :)

59 @+6

@Bandit's Mom You around? I know it’s late for you..

I should have tested sooner but I’m having a few friends coming over and was cleaning.. wouldn’t mind your thoughts on food .. I can’t tell if he’s going up or down

Do HC. If that flattens him out at +7, switch to LC or a mix of LC-HC.

Perfect, thank you! That’s what I did… I wasn’t sure if you were sleeping yet… I figured since I didn’t know which way he was going I’d give him HC now and test in an hour.

His poor ears are still red and hot (not the poke spot but the middle … don’t know what from … wondering if it’s the HC since that’s the only new thing I introduced and we’ve been giving him that often enough lately .. I don’t even need to warm his ears for a test. I hope it resolves soon ..

It was one ear and then the next day the other one .. but it’s not as bad… here are the ingredients… his old food had many of these ingredients but maybe reintroducing them is an issue

ETA: He’s not bothered by it unless I’m touching them.. he doesn’t paw at it .. my first thoughts were allergy, irritation maybe from so many pokes…(I hit the sweet spot every time and don’t reuse lancets), hematoma - but it’s not swelling.. fever maybe?

#2 ETA: Dr. Lisa’s has this at 19% carbs

The entire ear being red makes we wonder about an infection yet if that’s it it’s definitely not effecting his bg. I would be calling your vet at least to ask.

Thanks all. He’s doing well number wise.. (I’m so happy with his progress these last few days) and otherwise he’s pretty normal besides the red/hot ears.

I talked with my RVT and if he’s acting normal (not lethargic, no vomiting, eating, etc.) and it’s still the same on Monday she’ll range for a visit

Not much higher at +3.5! Wonder if it's a PJ party tonight.

Ha. Why not. Who needs sleep anyway!?
Voice inside my head: *I do, I do!*

I’m planning on doing a +6 (in 45mins).. I’m trying to take it easy on his ears.. but his BGs are just not cooperating (honestly tho.. can’t believe I’m even complaining about that..) I don’t even need to warm his ears right now. Poor dude.

Did you ever figure out what it was with the ears, Whiskey's run hot sometimes and she doesn't tolerate tests too well then. Mostly because one ear is way more sensitive than the other, so I can only test the one.

I'm trying an antihistamine to see if it helps with the ear sensitivity, also trying to get rid of the last of an ear mite infection!

I haven’t figured it out yet, it just started. We’ve been doing tests for about 6 months now and it has never really bothered him quite like this.. Wondering about food allergies (gonna look for some other HC/MC options and see if that helps) but could be something else… going to be monitoring and if it doesn’t completely get back to normal, I’ll be getting him checked out.

This morning his one ear (the worst and first one to get red/hot) was cool and not as red - looks to be clearing up.. I hope! The other ear wasn’t as bad but still a bit red and warm.

Hope whiskey’s infection clears up soon! And that the antihistamine helps with the sensitivity.

Me too, she just went under 50 tonight. She really picks her times, when the ears are sensitive and she's grumpy...and at night!

Oh wow! Whiskey has some beautiful numbers! Congrats on the reduction!

Gus is nighttime partier too.. in particular, during the work week :banghead: he loves a late nadir too.. just lovely. But I love to see those low numbers so I can’t complain much (but my boss might, lol)

LOL, I know the feeling, at least she waited to Sunday night, not something like Saturday night when I could sleep a bit late...!

I also love to see the greens, and it seems she's not shy to show me when SHE is ready for a reduction!
