Morning, LL...

Got some decent sleep. I will be heading to school today; I've got a huge paper due on Wednesday, so am going to spend some time in the library this morning, then marketing and home again...still reeling from the school news yesterday...but at least I got some sleep. I was woken by a sweet little Malachi laying across my neck, sucking my earlobe, purring like a motorboat. LOL. I may decide to head back to bed before going to school, though, so we'll see...still sleepy, you know? And head to school later...not sure yet.

Esse, OTOH, is being Esse. Placid and quiet and just simply herself. These numbers don't really seem to bother her, although they bother me...

I hope everyone has a good day...and that every cat has a breakthrough!

That sounds as if a lot of people are falling by the wayside....leaving the cream of the crop.
Tough grind. Hope you are taking lots of B complex....wishing you well today Michelle.
Maybe Esse will bring her numbers down by tomorrow....don't worry. :YMHUG:

Thanks, Pat. Cream of the crop or no, some were friends, and it's going to be strange to be without them...it is a tough grind, but still; sometimes I think that they make it harder than it has to be.

As for the Essemama, I'm hoping we'll see some break in the numbers soon...because darnit, she was doing well until *I* screwed it up. Bless her heart...

I'm heading back to bed soon; I've figured out how to do things without having to go back to school today (Monday will be the day I get the info), so I can stay home all day if I want to...and I want to. I need a day to just be quiet unto myself, and relax a bit. The house is in such bad shape that it's starting to annoy me, so I will spend some time getting things done around here. That usually makes me feel better, too, you know? Besides, then I can find all the cats. LOL.

Thanks for the hug...it's just hard right now. I'm gonna miss some of them. (Honestly, some I won't miss...but...some I will miss a lot).

Aww...Malachi sounds like such a sweetie.

I work on a campus with one of the top nursing schools in the country. The training at all levels is very tough and the faculty are very impressive. They really do demand a high standard of excellence from their students.

Mal is a darling...somtimes a bit annoying, as kittens are, but still, every much the sweetheart.

Not to brag, Sienne, but I am at one of the top nursing schools in the country, too...got in not on a round robin, but on scores and grades. So did everyone else. Our NCLEX pass rate is 97 1st time pass rate...and we work at one of the biggest, most diverse hospitals in the country. Our students are indeed amazing. Our faculty not so much sometimes...they can, and do, play games...which, in my opinion, is unnecessary. Because I am older than the average student, I can spot the games, and once known, they tend to be easily defeated games...but for most people, it messes with their heads. I was told I had a learning disability (I don't); I'm told I'm unsafe (I'm not) and I was told I was too fat to keep up with a patient load of 4 (I outrun 90% of the students, and 95% of the RNs, I work with). Things like that are unnecessary, and serve only to shake one's confidence levels...which will make them unsafe. We're told that the test will be on X, but instead it's on Y. People are accused of plagiarism simply because they have quotations in the wrong place (having not been taught how to write an APA paper...). And so on.

It's definitely a weeding out process, but it's unnecessary to do the foregoing, imho. Just not needed. Teach us, and once taught, expect us to perform well. But don't not teach us, and then get down on us for not knowing it. In the end, we are left with incredibly negative feelings about the school - and even though it produces results, it could produce far better results without the games and unnecessary stress.

Back to Esse...she's at 168 right now. I'll be watching over the next few hours to see where she goes...but we've managed to break the high 300s surf. Thank God. I just hope we can continue to be here for a while...and not plummet. Food is out, hopefully to control the surf, and we will see what happens from here.

Looks like we're holding steady in the mid 100s...this is good.

I also just won a deal on Ebay - 400 strips and 300 lancets for $163.50, free shipping too. If I were to buy this at the store, it would be just under $500, so I'm feeling good about that indeed. YAYAY I'll have enough strips for a while, and hopefully I will be able to continue purchasing on Ebay for the discounts like this...

Is that where she snuck off too after last test? LOLOL...she always looks cute. Big, and chubby, but ever so kissable and squishable.

And yes, the full moon funnies are here...Malachi just took off with a small single serving size Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream; Oliver has taken to walking the curtain rods, Abby is staring at me intently, and I just caught Charlotte opening the kitchen cabinets looking for God knows what.

She's heading the wrong way...288 @+2.5. But at least it's not going to be an allnighter...LOL. NDW, or fullmoon-itis, or something...but she's not unhappy - has been playing with Oliver and grooming and lounging in the small basket...

We'll see how tomorrow goes. At least I can go to bed with a relatively clear mind...
