Looks like Trix is in the mood for some action today.

Petey is off at the vetty. Since they do their procedures so early, I was actually hoping to have heard an update by now, but the phone remains silent. When DH dropped Petey off, they told him that they would call when Petey was ready to come home - so maybe they don't always call with updates?? They called me with Trix's updates, but her dental turned out to be more complicated than what they were expecting to do...

Fasting last night was more of a nightmare than I was expecting...and I was already expecting it to be tough. Fasting Petey meant fasting everyone (out of fairness), and they were so confused and out of sorts about why we weren't feeding them. It was absolutely heartbreaking...I had to lock myself in the bedroom early on in the evening, because it was getting ME so upset, and I didn't need to further upset them. Then, they kept us up pretty much all night long...I think the longest snippet of sleep I got was about 45 minutes...anything else I got was just dozing. DH did a little better...he probably slept about 2 hours.

So now, we sit and wait....all of a sudden time is barely moving...

Hi Amy,

We are sending lots of good vetty vines to Petey today. I'm sure all will be fine. Most vets wait quite a while before they send a dental patient home-- after the anesthesia they like to make sure the kitty is fine. The fact that they didn't call you when the extraction was finished isn't something to worry about. Just hang in there, OK? The other kitties will be happy to be fed!

Try not to worry and try to get in a nap. Petey will be home later.

A very nice start for Trixie. it looks like maybe a lagoon day for her.

Many positive good wishes for Petey today. I hope and know, it will go well. :-D I alwyas thinking the waiting is the hard part.... I know on the fasting - that too is the tough part. Thinking of you guys and Petey today. Maybe catch up n some sleep if you can. :-D

Hi Amy, sending lots of good and special Vetty vines for Petey's dental today. I can imagine how hard that must have been withholding food from all of them, as it's bad enough for one. If you're on pins and needles, you could always call and check to see what time they started, etc. I remember doing it with Mags as I was so anxious. Will be waiting for an update.
Trixie is looking good today.

The vet tech called a little while ago...Petey did well and is starting to wake up. They ended up pulling 2 molars. I'm supposed to check back in an hour-ish - he should be able to come home around 3:00 or 4:00...can't wait to have him back!

Hi Amy....I'm glad Petey's doing well, but so sorry he had to lose the toofers :sad:
I hope he's coming home with good pain meds.

Nice of Miss Trixie to give you nice numbers, so you don't have to worry about her too. :-D

So happy dental went well!! 2 Molars is not a lot, but hope his mouth is not hurting too much!

Amy, so glad to hear Petey had a good dental. He should feel good soon after it heals. Sending healing vines to Petey. I bet you can't wait to get him home.

I'm so thrilled it went well for Petey today. I know you were nervous but I bet he feels 100% better after he recovers from the extractions.

I'm glad Petey's dental went well. It is so hard to have to fast one when you have a multi cat household. I know exactly what you mean. I wish we could explain things to them.

Trix is doing nicely tonight...and hopefully she'll soon take back ownership of her condo!

Thank you so much, everyone, for you visits over these past few days/weeks/months...it means so much to us!

Petey has been home for a few hours now, but it was a shaky start. He was still very wobbly, he has lots of fur between his toes (he's a long-hair), and we only have hardwoods...poor little guy was slip-sliding and falling all over the place! Getting a little fuds in him helped, and then getting some bupe in him helped even more. I'm pacing the fuds, but of course, he's feeling like a bottomless pit. So, DH and I have just been hanging out, watching, following...all the usual stuff us nervous parents-of-furkids do. Petey seems none the worse for wear, but I still can't wait till he's fully healed. DH normally plays volleyball on Monday, but at the last second I asked that he stay home with us...something I would normally never do, but Petey was just soooo out of it at first.

I'm so sorry I haven't gotten to many condos over the past several days. Now that THIS one is behind us, hopefully I can start catching up soon. But no matter what, every one hear is always in my thoughts and prayers!

Time to give Pete a few more nibbles...
 
Hi, Amy! I've been thinking about Petey today & I'm so glad he's home and on the road to recovery.

Hope you get some rest tonight ~ you deserve it!
