I'm loving the new chart that I've done for Rupie now he's on lev. Showing a slow but very determined and steady decline. Nice to see each PS number lower than the previous one. I think we are on the right track. Rupert seems to think so. VERY BEBT this morning, and very active yesteray evening. Zooming around, kept wanting to go outside, and in typical cat fashion, then wanting to come back in, so he was doing laps of the house, out thru the basement cat flap, squeaking cat paws on the deck sliding glass door to be let in. He wanted to stay out but it was a little damp and miserable.

Have also started supplementing Rupert, Sophie and Bumley with B12. Very interesting. Did some research and it's recommended in cats with IBS/malabsorption syndrome or any sort of weight loss issues, kidney function etc.etc. Bumley is Rupert's older sister (16 yrs old) and she's been looking like an 'older' cat this past few months. Nothing drastic, just a little weight/muscle tone loss, and Sophie is Rupert's litter mate and she had IBS as a kitten. Lately she's been losing a little more weight than I'd like to see (although they all needed to lose a little and the total switch to all wet food this time last year made a big difference).... so, I started the b12 about two weeks ago and I can already see a huge difference, both girls have gained a little weight and are looking really very good.

Anyway, off to feed the horses and then off to work, sigh! Hope everyone has a good day.

Re: 1/28 Rupert AMPS 361

Hi guys,
Nice to see that Rupie is liking the Lev. Interesting observations about the B-12. Is it a shot or a pill?

Have a great evening out there in the rain (which we, apparently, are going to have tomorrow, too--to ruin what is left of the snowfall)

well, quite a flat day today for Rupert, not as nice a curve as I was hoping for but the shed is still filling, and at least there were no dramatics (so far!)

Ella: the B12 is oral, Methylcobalamin vs the cyanocobalamin - it's more readily absorbed and seems to work well orally. In humans it needs to be taken sublingually to prevent the stomach acid from destroying it's effect, but studies are showing that cats do well on it ingested directly so we'll see. it's one of those things that can't hurt so worth a try!
