Good Morning, Everyone,

Getting a late start. Rusty had bad congestion last night and we were all awake a lot. He's good this morning. We had a big change in the weather: the temperature rose 20 degrees to +25, it was very windy, and this morning we have a raging blizzard. I think the weather affected Rusty's breathing, but I'm wondering if bid dosing of Allerplex may loosen up too much gunk and affect his breathing. Maybe I ought to go back to one capsule and give 1/2 capsule in the morning and the other half in the evening? In Feb. Rusty is due for his rabies shot and we will schedule a complete physical exam and labs at the same time, probably including another set of chest x-rays. It will have been a year since the last set.

Rusty ate all his nighttime food. I heard him eating and using his litterbox about 2 hours before we got up, so he must have been finishing his food then. This morning he had good appetite for his breakfast and for his "lung treat". He's in his little bed by the radiator, getting ready to head up the Blue Team in curling practice. The kitties will have to sweep the snow off the ice.

Nice blue start for Rusty today. I'm so sorry about he breathing issues. Poor guy. Healing vines that it clears up. Have a great day Ella!

Hi guys .. so sorry to hear rusty had a rough night .. I'm glad to hear he is doing better this morning and hope he can stay warm by the radiator .. burr, it's cold out! have a great day!

I'm sorry you guys had a rough night, I hope you can catch some zzzz's later today. I'm glad Rusty has a good appy, he'll need it for all that sweeping ;-) I hope you can figure out the ideal dose to help the congestion. Have a good Monday, Ella. :razz:

I wish I had an answer for you on the AlerPlex, but have no experience with it. I'm glad though that Rusty is breathing better this morning.

Nice start today, maybe he just needed to get all that extra gunk out though and now things will be better.

Sounds like a good day to stay in! I love snow on bright clear days, but wind? No thank you!

Rusty, I guess I's on the yellow team today, but maybe I can switch over to curl w/ you. Do you think we can keep the ice clear with all the wind? -- Tess

Sorry to read about the rough breathing night. Paws crossed today is better for our skip.

Rusty has moved down to the GREEN Team! Go GREENS!!

Our "blizzard" was just blowing snow and we didn't get too much snow. Bummer! But maybe we'll get more tonight. It has gotten much colder.

I ordered a case of Canidae Pure Elements Grain Free from PetFoodDirect, but they sent me the old "Felidae" formula (which has fish in it). So they are going to send me a refund and I am going to donate the case to the local shelter. Rusty is allergic to fish. They said that it wasn't clear if the warehouse was going to ship all the old formula before turning to the new, or if they don't even have the new formula yet (it is listed on the website, however). I decided not to take a chance!

I'm sorry Rusty was congested last night...poor guy. But what gorgeous numbers for today - gooooooo, Rusty :mrgreen: !! Finger crossed and prayers that he has an easy-breathing night tonight!! Have a great one, Ella!

Paws crossed for lots of deep breathing tonight for Rusty!

Thanks for the reminder on the baby food for Zener. We had a couple of old jars and the food was bad, so Liz did a runner to the supermarket and brought some home. Will try later. Our history with getting him to eat baby food isn't very successful, but it is always good to have one more thing to try.

I hope the blizzard leaves enough snow you can get out snowshoeing and skiing when it's gone.

Lovely numbers for Rusty today!!! I hate to hear he has had trouble with his breathing. That has to be just as hard on you as it is on him. I hope it continues to get better!
